2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nose is cereal and barley and caramel. Taste is caramel and a little grapefruit bitterness. Mouthfeel is suitable. Itís hard to get excited by this, itís a bog standard British bitter with all the flaws that come with a commercial bottling.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle; gold, thin white head; over carbonated - fizzy, rather than crisp; caramel taste and little else; poor, although would expect the cask version to be much better.

Very nice. The floral fruitiness is just right, not too overpowering and itís not too strong so plenty can be be enjoyed. Bought a bottle in City Super, HK.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
500ml bottle bought at CitySuper in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui.
Clear amber colour; Half-finger head and white foam which last for about 1 minute; Small sticky lacing with notable slight carbonation; Fragrant aroma of grapefruit, ale malt, honey, molasses and slight citrus hint; Fairly light sweet taste of ale malt, with light grapefruit, lemon, molasses, liquorices, light bitter lime and grass; Mid to light body, slightly thick palate; Taste profile is dominated by very dull grapefruit, notable ale malt, molasses undertone and liquorices. Dullness and staleness permeate... Quite strong hoppiness throughout, with grapefruit nose, bitter lime taste, and pronounce yet low key bitterness. Astringent finish seems hollow. Duh! Slightly dry after taste, quite easy to mouth
Comments: I always fascinate about those TV gardeners / handymen and their products. I bought this solely for this reason and before I popped the bottle, I didnít expect too much for this, and this is exactly it: an uninspiring brew rank even lower than the disappointing Fyne Ales Avalanche. With stale grapefruit, unimpressive bitterness, and thin body, this is just an easy and simple dinner wash. Wanted some aromatic and sensual excitement? Better look elsewhere.
