(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm, 1 July 2008) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Floral, grassy nose with citrus (lemon, grapefruit) and fresh notes of grassy hops. Malty, grassy taste with notes of citrus and fresh grassy, floral hops in a fairly short finish. Light body. Decent, tasty blond ale with a fresh, floral hop character.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 stravale (574) - Scottish Borders, SCOTLAND - AUG 22, 2011
Cask @ Wetherspoons Elgin.
Typical golden ale appearance, straw-golden, thin white head.
Aroma of grassy hop with a harsh sort of rust metal.
Taste of bitter grass hop, some cereal, sweet light fruity malt, hint of butter.
Palate - Soft carbonation. Finish was rather sour, earthy metallic with lingering bitterness.
Overall - An average golden ale let down by a very poor finish. It might be ’end-of-the-barrel’ comparing my notes to other reviewers.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 flying_pig (338) - SCOTLAND - JUL 11, 2011
Typical for a golden ale, it’s very sweet & light smelling. There is a biscuit like maltiness to it along with lighter hops & sugar.
A very light golden colour that is almost straw coloured. Very thin white lace for head.
Typical sweet, fruity flavour upfront. It is mainly an apple & pear fruity taste that is a little too sweet for my liking although it is drinkable.
Warm & smooth tasting & medium to light bodied. Not much I can say about this really other than drink it quite, once it’s had time to settle it tastes progressively worse.
Not the best tasting cask ale I have tried, it was pretty ordinary in most respects and could have been more adventurous; it was like every other blonde ale before it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 neuromatt (610) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 11, 2010
Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2010, served in an English pint glass. Pours clear golden with a few bubbles but no head to speak of. It has a large floral aroma with citrus and pale malts. The flavour is moderately sweet up front, becoming increasingly bitter towards a long, bitter hoppy finish. On the palate, it feels light in body with a watery texture and no carbonation. Overall, this is a nice summer beer: it is light, with a hoppy/floral aroma and a piney hop finish. 2010-08-04
