COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Available bottled year round.
Originally released as a special as Brunel 200 IPA for the Brunel Birthday Celebrations in April 2006.

Brunel and his fellow engineers challenged our sense of what was possible, and in doing so changed the face of the world. Brunel IPA is a clean tasting, dry and hoppy, authentic recipe India Pale Ale. Amber in colour, full bodied with a bittersweet finish…perfectly engineered!

Bottle at Sommerfields. A clear amber-brown beer with a small white head. Light floral hoppy aromas. Taste is moderate bready malts finishing with a nice floral hop bitterness. Medium bodied and highly drinkable. A good uncomplicated English bitter.

Cask at the Guildhall, Folkestone. Gold with a thin white head, grainy citrus aroma; buttery in the mouth with a light grapefruit tang and some caramel; deep but gentle bitterness to finish.

500 ml bottle. From Bristol, England. Hazy amber colour with thin white head. Aroma is caramel sweet with lots of hops. Sweetish caramel flavour with lots of delicious hops and some malts. Excellent. Best IPA (bitter) for some time.

imdownthepub (9623) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2009
Cask conditioned at The Bell, Banbury. Copper amber with white head. Sharp hoppy bitter, quite drying with just a hint of tinny, metallic hops but this is only short lived as the citric notes take over. Full in body with a darkish, chocolate background, a really chunky full bitter. Pretty reasonable.

Handpulled at JDW Hatch End, Harrow. Amber with a good white unsparkled head. Good body and fresh pepperty goldings/fuggles. Very drinkable.

On tap in the Boat, Redbrook. Amber colour. Thin white head. Slight hoppiness in the flavour. Sweeter than an IPA should be. Closer to an ESB I feel.

Cask at the new crown. Alround rating: Pale and slightly richer malt start, grassy, citrus but mainly floral hop dominate. Easily drinkable if a bit boring.

Cask (Wetherspoons, Woking) - Dark golden/amber in colour. Lightly hoppy aroma with citrus notes standing out. Refreshing and lightly hoppy taste with some light grapefruit and peach notes. The finish is not so strong but the taste lingers.

hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 5, 2009
Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes. Amber with a white head. Virtually no aroma, perhaps some floral hop. Strong, oily hoppy taste with some grain. An oddly mushy finish. ’Authentic IPA’ said the pumpclip optimistically.

Botella. Clear deep golden with a medium white head. Fair lacing. Nice hoppy aroma. Good mouthfeel. The flavopur is not as hoppy as I hoped but the mild bitter hoppiness with some flowers is pleasant along with the citrus and soft sweetness. Mild bit sweet hoppy bitterfinish.
