4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Bronze/amber colour with a slim off-white head. Earthy hop aroma; smells like an IPA, good start. Tastes like one as well. Hops throughout, some malts, dry with a bitter finish. Smooth, creamy and medium to full bodied. Very good.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
500 ml bottle. From Bristol, England.
Hazy amber colour with thin white head.
Aroma is caramel sweet with lots of hops. Sweetish caramel flavour with lots of delicious hops and some malts. Excellent. Best IPA (bitter) for some time.

Pours a golden color with minimal off-white head. Very inviting aroma of bread, biscuits and fruits, apricots and oranges. Taste is grassy, bready and fruity. More apricots, some grapefruit and oranges. Slightly hoppy, slightly sweet, light body. Great IPA!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
50cl bottle. Clear brown, filtered with small to medium white head. Nose : caramel, grains, some nuts. Fruity banana , orange and peach. Watermelon. Sip : low density , oily texture with tingling carbonation. Little sweet cake, with interesting bitter taste. The bitterness is a good balance between delicate coffee and dominating grapefruit. And I must confirm it’s easy to drink. Great blend. It’s a big shame it’s just so little alcohol in it.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 10, 2007 Clear reddish pour (eventually), replacing the madly foaming pint of milky whiteness. Took the barmaid a full 10mins to tame this one. Dusty grapefruit hoppy and aromatic, with a hint of graininess and intensely bitter finish. Tangy bitter orange with fresh bread in the afternose. Juicily fruity and quenchingly bitter. Lingers very pleasantly with a fine hoppy-yeasty-malty balance. Very good indeed.

Bottle. Another Brunel-themed beer. Aroma was of caramel with citrus and floral hops. Flavours of marmalade and grapefruit before a long bitter finish. Very pleasant.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
50cl dark brown glass bottle. Color of this IPA is cloudy amber, very small light beige head. Appealing aroma of oranges, hops and some malt - characteristic of IPA. Hops are also prominent in the flavor, again with citrus fruit notes. Medium bitter finish. Eminently drinkable - a very good, very typical IPA style beer from Bristol.

An IPA showing some of the strength other so called IPA’s lack. Dry, hoppy with a bitter aftertaste. Full bodied despite being pale in colour. Very moreish.Strongly Recommended.

Bottle. Poured flat and clear. Bitter and not really an IPA as it lacks hoppiness. Not bad though and comes with a rather pleasant label.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Amber colour with lasting, rocky, beige head. Fruity nose with orange, apricots and earthy hops. Fruity taste with notes of dried apricots, orange peel, caramel, biscuity malt and earthy hops in a fairly dry finish. Perfectly balanced. Nice bitter.
