3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Smooth textured light copper coloured ale with a disappearing bubbly head. Has a good identifiably pale ale aroma with a small fruitiness. Itís more stubborn in its flavour and has a graininess. Slips down the palate with ease.

500ml Bottle: best before 14 May 2013, poured into my Abbot Ale glass tankard on 12 Aug 2012.
Chestnut brown and clear body: on top a huge foaming crown of off-white bubbles.
Solid hop nose with mild malt undertones: an understated aroma, but got stronger as the beer warmed (Iíd cooled it in the fridge).
The taste was interesting: hop bitterness countered by some malty sweetness (caramel and toffee notes): The body was well balanced and the 5% ABV suited the brew nicely.
Iíll certainly have this again if I see it.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
50cl bottle. Clear brown, filtered with small to medium white head. Nose : caramel, grains, some nuts. Fruity banana , orange and peach. Watermelon. Sip : low density , oily texture with tingling carbonation. Little sweet cake, with interesting bitter taste. The bitterness is a good balance between delicate coffee and dominating grapefruit. And I must confirm itís easy to drink. Great blend. Itís a big shame itís just so little alcohol in it.

Half pint. Copper colour, very clear. One finger head which the beer retained well. Light corky soapy hoppy smell. Very bitter, light smoky fruity aftertaste. Medium mouthfull. Overall ok but not world class.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in March 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear red amber in colour with a thin creamy white head. Clear dusty hop in the short aroma. thin but creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Digestive biscuit malt with citric fruit notes of lemon and orange peel. Dusty hops give a big presence in the resiny aftertaste. Finish is well robust with strong malty overtones. Excellent session ale.

Very pleasant Premium Bitter on cask @ JDW Moon Under Water, Manchester. Met a guy called Kevin whose well knows all Spoons staff on first names in Manchester, he recommended this to me. Huge malty backbone to this, backed up by Goldings Hops. Dry, big body to it, fruit, caramel possibly in there. Lovely beer.
