3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 blankboy (5199) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 19, 2011
My bottle (500ml) shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus. Pours a clear golden-orange with an average size frothy off-white head. Aroma is sweet and grainy along with caramel malt and not really much hops to speak of. Flavour of caramel malt, grain, very light hops and an average bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not what I look for in an IPA but it’s reasonably well made.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Bullit (3516) - Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - SEP 10, 2011

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 sm89walt (1599) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - SEP 5, 2011
Cask - The Bell Hotel (JDW), Norwich. Poured a clear golden copper with a lasting, medium sized off-white head. Citric & floral hop profile with a sharpish, tangy edge and a light earthiness. Fair, crisp bitterness in the finish. Quite bright on the palate, light to medium body, medium length bitterness. Seemed to struggle to hit any heights but a drinkable ESB though a bit too chilled & dulled in that Spoons way.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 HogTownHarry (5713) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - SEP 5, 2011
500ml bottle shared by blankboy with me and garthicus. Clear amber, bright, small frothy/creamy off-white head. Smells like an ESB - sweet grain, floral and fruity. Taste is pretty solid - chewy floral grain, solid low-level vaguely herbal bitterness - very grainy, hardly any alcohol (7-). Chewy, fairly thick body, mild carbonation, a well-balanced grainy/floral finish, slightly overly sweet in the aftertaste: clean.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 garthicus (2358) - Dublin, IRELAND - SEP 5, 2011
Thanks to Blankboy. Appearance: golden orange, small snow white head. Aroma: some initial sweetness that makes way for hops and a nice maltiness. Flavour: Perfume hops, quite bitter, good malt backbone with a nice long black tea finish.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 fiulijn (12360) - Malmö, DENMARK - JUL 17, 2011
Bottle from Maruhn, Darmstadt Hazy amber-copper color; small-sized creamy head. The malt and hop arma, very light, is covered by a stronger smell of vegetables and cabbage, not rare in English bottles; also, refined white sugar; somehow perfumy. Still, the aroma is better than the flavor, where there is just some dry and dusty caramel (how can they rate the sweetness 4.5/5.0 on the label???), and more vegetables. Low bitterness. Confused.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 markas101 (1677) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 11, 2011
50 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK. Hazy iced-tea colour, frothy long lasting head. Sweet clove aroma, with some underlying citrus. Balanced bittersweetness then sweet caramel with some resin on the finish.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JanLaursen (2219) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 22, 2011
Really nice orange-colured British IPA with discreet but endearing scents of citrus, pine and hops. Very well balanced maltbase - and a super-refreshing taste. More forthcoming than many of its American cousins.
