2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sampled @ GBBF day 2. Clear orange golden "apple juice" color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, a slightly hoppy fruitiness, a slight fruity bitterness. Decently balanced actually, even though I don’t really like it. Average body and carbonation. Ok beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask@The ale house, Bath. Haze dark golden. Half finger dense foam. Some fizz. Earthy grassy dusty. It must be dry hop with the english fuggle! Dry sweet. Not bad.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford. Poured a rather hazy golden colour, with a dense white head and excellent lacing. Soft fruit aroma, with some perfume and straw. Initial flavours of peal, melon and grain. Finish was caramel, lemon zest and a metallic edge.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 5/20
4.4% gold to amber colour (not surprising) with a thin head, called a bitter but more like a tasty lager.

Cask, pub at Bristol Temple Meads railway station. Gold body, thin white head. Nose is hops, some citrus, some fruit. Bitter. Dry finish. Just another generic UK cask golden ale.

Bog standard best bitter. Quite sweet. Tastes a bit under powered after drinking strong beers but basically fine.

Plain and simple, sure and steady. Decent but unexciting pint. Flavours gentle hops and medium bitterness.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hand-pulled pint in the excellent ’Railway Buildings’ on Codsall railway station: 17 Nov 2012.
Cracking looking beer: bright body of golden amber colour with a good head that stayed the distance as the beer level slid down my UK sleeve glass.
The aroma was thin and although there was a mini-blend of malt and hop notes there wasn’t enough to pick out any clear smells to pontificate about.
The taste is a well balanced mix of semi-sweet maltiness and a woody, nutty feel with a mild hop bitterness under the surface at all times and rising towards the end of each sip.
Pleased I found a cask version: thought it might be better than the bottled one and I was right.
