From a bag in the box at the Green Man, Bristol 3/06/2011. Cloudy orange in colour and flat. Earthy, apple fruit, a touch of citrus and dryish finish, Fine.

Handpump at the Pembury Tavern on 24 July 2011. Bit of confusion here. The pump clip said Silly Ewe (which is a Gwatkin cider) but a close examination revealed it was actually a Butford label stuck onto the Gwatkin pump clip with the Silly Ewe still showing. Noted at 6.7%. Orangey colour. Hazy. Fruity aroma. Not actually very dry. Some tannin but there’s a definite sweet feel - probably more from the fruit than sweetness itself. Overall a pretty tasty drop.

A Mes rate. Cask at the Southampton.
Murky yellow brown coloured. A lovely drop of dry cider. Just sweet enough to stop it sucking your cheeks in but dry and tart enough to keep me chugging away at it. Really tasty apples, lots of skin, lots of flesh. Straight forward but very enjoyable but all of a sudden there is a hit of cinnamon that really makes it. Yum.

Cask Stillage at NWAF The Venue, Miles Platting 23/01/2010 Fruity aroma. Golden coloured hazy in appearance and strong in alcohol with a slightly dry tannin finish.

Barrel @ Soton Beer Festival 07. Thin feel with some almondy alcohol. Not very flavoursome but has has good dry finish.

Merton Beer Festival Sat 18th Feb. The strength of this stated 5.5% on the polypin. For someone who enjoys the occasional cider and perry but is far from an expert this really was very good. A hazy deep golden colour that poured very still, full of flavour but not as sharp as I was expecting. I had a couple of these and particularly enjoyed their perry as well.
