COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned, Special;
Ale XXX is bottle conditioned and made with the finest whole cone Northdown and Goldings hops and Marris Otter malting barley from rustic England. Serve it warm and flat in a pewter tankard and leave all that fizzy lager in cryogenically frozen glasses to Americans and Eurotrash. Butler’s Brewery is supplying the bottled ale - known as Alex Ale xxx - for the stage play based on the popular Daily Telegraph cartoon character. Butlers is providing 3,000 bottles of Ale xxx to the Arts Theatre in London’s West End.

Bottle at Cropredy ... thanks to Fin for this amber/copper,light sweet malt.light malts little toffee, littke bitterness in linger,reasonable balance, if a bit plain. Nice to see Alex Masterly on the bottle :-)

Bottle picked up from Londis, Goring on Thames, Oxfordshire, and consumed 01-02-08 Poured classic amber colour with white bubbly head. Nice hops on the nose, taste was good balance of bitterness and sweetness with a slight citrus element running through this, but more like a soft sweet orange than lemon or grapefruit, I really like this, it was simple and tasty Loz on the other hadn’t wasn’t so struck on it.
