Old Rating. Bottle. I didn’t realise that the brewery had closed since I sampled this beer. Pale brown bitter. A soft, malty, fruity bitter with a medium bitter finish.

Bottle conditioned, May 2008. No best before date. Amber colour. Dry and slightly bitter. Some hints of dry fruit. A rather dusty strong bitter that was perfectly respectable but didn’t deliver much punch for the style. Perhaps the ones imdownthepub and Fin had were from a better/fresher batch.

Bottle @ home. [ Courtesy chris_o ].
Clear medium amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate yeasty, sour - acidic. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to light heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. (130508)

Bottle conditioned, 500ml, from Westholme Stores, Goring on Thames, Oxon. Ambrer with white head. Good, full bodied hoppy bitter with a deeper flavoured body than many. Some caramel and roasted barley notes, quite grainy with a slight touch of Burtonization, then the main show, the dry hops, big, fresh, bitter and dry giving a long refreshing finish. A well crafted bigger bitter.

BCA, picked up from Millets Farm near Abingdon, Oxon. Poured amber in colour with decent hoppy and malty aroma. Nice full flavoured bitter which is quite chewy with good fruitiness and malts prominent. Really enjoyed this beer from Butlers.
