2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 TAR (2236) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - DEC 5, 2001
UPDATED: JAN 20, 2007 I guess this is a mild extra pale or a heavier hopped American golden ale. If I like a blonde ale it must be masterfully done. This achieves a great malt aroma, middle bite and a rounded, soft, dry smoothness in the finish. I could find myself drinking this in the summer regularly; that is if it was available here. The best Blonde I have had. Thanks to Gusler for shipping this to my side door!!
2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 Libeerian (209) - Garner, North Carolina, USA - JUL 11, 2003
Initial malty aroma, not overly hoppy for an APA. Later, a grapefruit nose comes through from "lots" of American hops. Grapefruit comes through in the flavor as well but with pretty low astringency. Malt flavors are subdued but still present. I disagree with some of the raters that its too bitter but I do think it's got too many flavor hops. The grapefruit extends even to the aftertaste.

Draft. Clear yellow with a frothy white head. Fruity malt aroma. Fruity flavor with some malt and fusial alcohols.

A deep yellow color. Wouldn't think this was a pale ale. Not much of an aroma and ho hops from the taste. Kind of boring actually. Don't expect much from this beer.

It seemed really bitter and had to much of an after taste for me/
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Panzuriel (1080) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - SEP 5, 2002
A overly bitter ale that held little appeal for me. Less hops is better really. It makes your tongue tingle less.

Decent colour, not better than any other APA i've ever had...fairly light in colour compared to those. Decent taste, but not much of an APA...more of a normal ale.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 aspidites (1273) - manteca, California, USA - NOV 24, 2007
Mild fruit and caramel nose with a touch of nuts. Very carbonated body with mild DMS. Thin and grainy finish.

Had this blonde ale from a keg at Chico State and it was fairly good, but under real sampling conditions from the bottle, it can’t even measure up to the low standard set by the other rank and file masses of blonde ales. Butte Creek for worst micro in California?
