It poured a light hazy yellow. Little carbonation and flavor. The palate is thin and watery. At first it comes across spicy then mellows out. I expected more from the description. It was very watered down.

Bottle:   Pale straw, very dull, cloudy, and loaded with sediment.   Moderate to large white head, decent lacing, flat in carbonation.   Very dull wheaty aroma.   A little dank, wet sock perhaps.   Certainly wheaty on the tongue, but oddly enough for an American Wheat it doesn’t have that sulpher component, but it also doesn’t have any spices.   Straight up wheat malt, a little basement perhaps.   Not that filling, or should I say not heafty for a Wheat.   Seems dead on the tongue.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate otherwise.   Dry finish, slightly grainy.   Decent, but quite boring.   Lacks zest or umph.   About what I expected for an Organic Hefe.

Bottle sampled in Feb 2008: Pours a hazy yellow golden with a spotty white head. Aroma is slightly skunked and earthy with some clove, black pepper, and slightly estery yeastiness. Body starts lightly sweet and wheaty with a touch of lemon citrus and a drier, earthy bittersweet finish. Needs a little more body, sweetness and authentic yeast character.

From bomber pours golden straw with faint yeasty aroma. The label says Hefeweizen, Bavarian and hazy, but it looks filtered with sparse, suspended yeasties. Body is more substantial than the pastuerized look would lead you to predict. Flavor only hints at style with some pilsner malt forward and with some clove phenols, but hardly any banana esthers to speak of.

btl by Springlicker. Straw hazed yellow pour with a bubbly white head and lace. Clove citrus and wheat on the nose. Papery, thick wheat, with a medium bitter. Watery with light carbonation. An unusual pre bitter taste but a nice bitter. Would be safe to say a beer that lacks character. Not bad but missing something

Pours the palest beer I’ve ever seen. I mean like clear. Some haze to it. One finger frothy white head. The nose is wheaty, spicy, some clove, no banana, some lemongrass, more citrus peel than I would expect. The flavor is very mild, some wheat, some banana, otherwise very mild. Not too impressive.

To me, a Hefe should be a medium yellow with a good bit of cloudiness. This was a thin yellow and very clear. It should also boast a tall, long lasting head and this one had a small head that disappeared almost immediately. Decaying citrus aroma that moves towards some clove. Dry finish to a thin, watery disappointing start. Very thin bodied for a Hefe.
