2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, USA - JAN 11, 2008
It looks to me like they changed bottles, which kind of sucks as I’m shopping for singles and end up buying one of each (old and new) which would be such a big deal but the beer really isnt very good, which really sucks for me cause I now have two of these beers and I drink the new label first, which I can only assume that if I don’t like the new label, I’m probably not going to like the old label on an IPA but what the fuck, it’s only $2.10 for a 12 ounce bottle at Bierkraft where I spent a shitload of time today because I was parked two blocks away and it really started pouring outside so I think what a better way to spend some time then to shop for singles that I haven’t rated yet but thank goodness Bierkraft has so many beers or I would have had to walk in the pourin rain for two blocks, now God forbid I get wet when I knew it was going to rain and I left the house without an umbrella, which makes me think "who carries an umbrella if they don’t have to wear work clothes or something nice" I know it sure as fuck better be raining piss before I’d use an umbrella but for now it’s Cornell vs. RPI college hockey on the tube and for some reason me thinks, Go Big Red! BTW, organic beers suck.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bnoel09 (271) - Elk Grove, California, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Poured from 12oz bottle into an English pint glass. This 6 pack has the ABV listed as 6.4%. Color is medium amber with cream colored head. Aroma is caramel malt and some earthy hops. Flavor starts with cloyingly sweet caramel malt and leads into spicy, earthy hop notes. Medium bodied with a sticky mouthfeel. Overall this just wasn’t very balanced - too much sweetness up front for any amount of hops to try to counter.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jackfrost9p (87) - California, USA - APR 15, 2012
Not much to this IPA. Very drinkable and smooth, but seems to be missing some of the characteristic IPA notes.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 TURDFERGUSON (2757) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - APR 8, 2012
Bottle. Another crappy IPA. hazy orange with a small white lace. Nose is striaght grain, smells like a brewery when you first walk in. No hops to be found. Lots of cardboard and grain. Ugh.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jhgrantjr (13) - Tennessee, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Poured this from a bottle. Golden orange color with a small white head. Aroma of some malts, light hops, but not very complex. Completely missing the floral and citrus. The taste was light all the way around. This was a weak IPA for me (first sampled 3/12/2012).
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 beernovice39 (2090) - South Carolina, USA - FEB 3, 2012
Bottle pours a clear copper with a thick white head. Scent is caramel. Taste is the same with earthy bitterness.
3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 scarletfire65 (522) - Rockaway Park, New York, USA - DEC 17, 2011
Pours a clear copper - orange. The aroma is subdued, some citrussy hops and a bit of caramel. The body is light, with a thin and lean mouthfeel. There is a solid malty sweetness with a lot of ripe juicy orange flavor. The finish is well balanced with a very pleasant hop bitterness. Not bad.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 zestytaco (34) - Niceville, Florida, USA - DEC 6, 2011
Pours a cloudy pumpkin like orange with little bits of yeast floating around. Smell is hoppy, typical of an IPA. Taste is made mostly of hop bitterness with citrus fruit undertones. There are better IPAs out there but this one is worth a try.
3.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 djd07 (1724) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 3, 2011
Bottle. Pours a clear copper with a small frothy white head. The aroma is fruity pebbles cereal. Thin mouthfeel with a fruity hop and clean finish. Easy to drink a very good IPA from Butte Creek
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 rougeau13 (1217) - Texas, USA - AUG 24, 2011
Bottle. Clear amber-copper color with a moderate off-white head. Decent lacing. Aroma of resin, earth, caramel malt, and pine. The taste is mild maltiness and substantially, though not heavily, bitter, with a long bitter and dry finish. The body is medium with somewhat mild carbonation. Not a very good IPA, but I’d say not bad as far as the average beer goes.
