Clear copper color with an off white head. Decent smell is classic B-wine alcohol, malts, pit fruits. Smooth and full bodied. Taste is mostly hot, spicy alcohol with a mild pit fruit sweetness. The big alcohol bitterness over powers this brew. 4207

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a small white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt, alcohol, toffee, and citrus. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and slightly warm alcohol. Good.

2008 Bottle - Last bottle of the tasting so notes are a bit scribbley...Pours reddish amber with a medium off white head...aroma is high fruit, high citrus hop...flavour is pretty straight forward, 1-2 punch of pine and caramel malt...definite fire in this bottle that may or may not mellow, but good to try...

Bottle. Hazy red-orange with little head. Rusty chewy aroma is earthy, minerally, with lots of fruit after that and caramelized backed apples. Chewy mouthfeel. Caramelized dough, oat bran muffin, and metallic. Not my thing.

Sampled in a 22oz. Pours dark brown, from froth but no head. Palate is a bit rough i feel. Still, good brew, good alcohol content. Iffy if i would try again.

Bomber- somehow I think I was drinking this with Beastiefan2k a couple years ago from the look of the post it note found in my pile. Pours a nice deep amber with a thinning fizzy head. Aroma is very sweet, toasted malts, caramel malts, molasses, brown sugar, and fruity esters with slight hops. Flavor is toffee caramel, weak and watereed down overall and the hops get a bit grassy and astringent. Finish is spicy with a good kick of alcohol burn. Not a trainwreck, but not that great.

Bomber, a couple years old. Poured clear reddish-orange with a short-ish lived cap of beige head.. cool translucent effect in the light. The aroma picked up warm, deeper biscuit, molasses, and honey malts accented by a little earth and spicy alcohol warmth.. smelled a bit broken down by age, but it was still enjoyable. The flavor opened with tangy, almost minty spruce character, followed by molasses maltage.. honey and bread gave additional support.. very, very bitter as the drink progressed (but it lacked direction).. peppery alcohol notes and more mint around.. long, rather sweet (but still very bitter) finish. Medium-bodied and surprisingly slick on the palate.. hot, but not too bad considering ABV and style.. the bitterness was sharp and off-putting at times.. I’d be curious to try a fresher sample.

From a 22 oz bottle this poured a dark copper color with a big fat fluffy pillow of a head that left large chunks of lacing. Nose of caramel malts, fruits, and hops. This is supposed to be a Barley Wine but does not taste quite like one. Mouthfeel is somewhat sweet and oily. Flavor are complex but do not totally integrate. Alcohol is apparent. I actually found this decent to drink, and would be curious to see it would settle down in a couple of years. I will have to try to get another bottle.

Bottle Pours a clear light mahogany with a modest off-white head. Some white lacing. Sweet BW carmel and brown sugar aroma but not very big. Flavor was malty and sweet, wth lightly roasted notes and caramel with enough bitter hops to balance. Fairly high ABV but the rather subdued flavors don’t wuite keep up.
