COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Traditional Hefeweizen from Germany usually taste like cardboard because by the time you drink them, they’re not fresh anymore. Chuck brews Heinnieweisse with Bavarian yeast and a 67% wheat grist approximately 5000 miles closer to your mouth than Germany giving it a rich, fully fresh palate. Pour it and see the wheat cloudiness, smell the notes of estery aroma. At 4.9 % abv you’ll taste the effervescent, sweet yet tart freshness that no farty old German can boast. And what does an Alien have to do with any of this? Ever notice how a hop looks like an Alien’s head? Look again.

12 oz can purchased in Binghamton, NY. Pours to a hazy, bright golden color, with a tall, rocky head, and a lively carbonation. The nose on this beer is classic southern Bavarian hefeweizen, with aromas of clove, banana, and pear. The palate is tart, with good wheat malt flavors, paired with estery fruity flavors of banana and pear. This beer finishes with more good quenching, wheat malt flavor, then ends with a spicy clove flavor that lingers. Well done example of Bavarian hefeweizen. Very tasty, a beer I could drink lots of, and one that would be the perfect match to German fare.

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum, extra from Watson1977, can poured into a weizen glass. Pours cloudy pale golden with small white head which dissapates quickly. Little lacing, medium body, medium/low carbonation, and light grain aroma. Taste is tart estery grain and some banana. Refreshing, effervescent, pretty good.

Big bubble in the head that don’t last long. Milky yellow appearance. Has a mild coriander aroma. The taste is a sour orange citrus and a peppery feel to the tongue. Has a clean refreshing finish.

No canning information.
Appearance: Beautiful looking hefeweizen, the body is a cloudy straw to golden color with a thick and fluffy white head on top that leaves lots of lacing on the sides as the head dissolves.<br Aroma: The aroma is very nice with light tartness with some banana, it smells pretty good, nice and refreshing.
Taste: The taste is very thin, a bit watery, but it’s refreshing. The tart is light with light citrus notes throughout, not much yeast presence presence in here only a very light cloves on the finish that lingers a tad.
Palate: Light to medium body with a slightly creamy texture and lively carbonation.
Overall: This isn’t an excellent beer and the pretension in the description hurts my opinion of it, but it is set at an excellent price point and it’s a very refreshing beer. I would love to buy a case of this for the Summer during camping trips.

Canned beer from Whole Food Market, NYC 120907. Clear golden /yellow beer with a big offwhite lacy head, not lasting. Fruity and strange artificiell aroma and smiliar flavour.

Serving: 12 oz. can from Total Wine Sterling. It pours a hazy yellow color with a decent white head. The nose is on the lighter side with some lemon notes. The flavor is rather flavorless with a little lemon, yeast, and a slight tartness. Very clean finish due to the lack of flavor to begin with. Light body. If a lack of flavor in your wheat beer is what you’re going for, you’ve found it here.

Ehh. I give up on these guys. Some grass, some lemon, some fruit, barely any wheat. Seems to be a trend of theirs that almost all their brews have some sort of sourness to them.

This is the 3rd Butternuts beer I’ve tried, and this was the best (Porkslap & Snapperheard were the others). I would have liked for this to be more wheaty, but it was okay nonetheless.

This was just a boring beer. It had very muted flavors, probably due to a lack of hops.
