COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Traditional Hefeweizen from Germany usually taste like cardboard because by the time you drink them, they’re not fresh anymore. Chuck brews Heinnieweisse with Bavarian yeast and a 67% wheat grist approximately 5000 miles closer to your mouth than Germany giving it a rich, fully fresh palate. Pour it and see the wheat cloudiness, smell the notes of estery aroma. At 4.9 % abv you’ll taste the effervescent, sweet yet tart freshness that no farty old German can boast. And what does an Alien have to do with any of this? Ever notice how a hop looks like an Alien’s head? Look again.

Can. For whatever it’s worth, this was the best of the mix twelve pack. Pours a super hazy muddled yellow. Smell is grains, Citrus tartness and some earthy notes. Taste is grains/rice, somewhat harsh citrus tartness, but watered down. As said not offensive like a few in the box.

Can. Pours a very hazy gold with a thin white head. Sweet on the nose, light corn, some banana and softly herbal notes. Medium bodied, soft wheat, somewhat empty. More candied banana, soft yeast, a light bitterness followed by a slightly odd sweetness. Drinkable at least.

TURDFERGUSON (2753) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - MAY 2, 2012
Can. Cloudy yellow with a steady white head. Nose is dry and spicy, light tart, i kinda like it, apple, pear. Flavor is mildly tart, some funky wheat, and some vegetal like flavors. Finishes slightly acidic and plastic-y. Weird beer but I really like the funky nose. Sorta reminds me of weizen bam (nose-wise).

Can from 12-pk (Butternuts variety pack) in apt w Streets watching D2. Hazy yellow pour (opaque) into shaker. Ridiculously big white head. Aroma is light wheat, zest, fruit. Palate is very sweet fruit for a wheat beer, but I didn’t have a problem with that. High carbonation, light mouthfeel. Not particularly wheaty but citrus was very prominent. Not that bad at all.

beerscout (177) - New Windsor, New York, USA - APR 21, 2012
Can. Very brief, almost non-existent foamy white head. Cloudy pale yellow color. Aroma of alcohol and what appeared to be lemon and grass. Not much in the way of flavor and hardly resembled anything close to a weizen. Its texture was a weizen, but the mouthfeel was aweful. Very harsh, very tart, very acid like. I will avoid this one.

Hazy straw with a thick white head. Medium body but lots of wheat creaminess. Medium-high carbonation.

Aroma: sour tart wheat, pears, and an odd sake note.

Taste: strong cidery sake rice note, some tart grainy wheat.

Sampled at an ESBLS tasting. Rob brought it. Cloudy and hazy gold with a white head. I smell sulfur, oranges, and lemon. Lemony flavored with yeast and wheat. Below average.

Can. Pours clear yellow with thick, frothy white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is grassy hops, biscuit malt, straw, butter, corn and light citrus fruit. Flavor is heavy malt with light hops and fruit esters; crisp finish. Light body and warmth with medium carbonation.
