COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout beer pays tribute to the Butternuts Brewery’s former life as a dairy farm. It’s a more drinkable version of the Stout breed than its heavy, boorish and smelly European sisters. We use lactose sugar for body and mouthfeel; not too strong, not too viscous at 4.9% abv. Unlike a true bovine it has a malty, roasty aroma and a dry finish but no tail or teats, and leaves no unsightly cow pies laying around the yard for you to step in.

I rather enjoyed it! Not much aroma or complexity, but it was a very drinkable and enjoying stout.

Can. Pours a pitch black with minimal tan head. Smell is dark burnt malts, some sweetness, minerals. Taste is burnt malts, tart metallic tinge, semi lactose. Just not good. Although not pouring it out.

Shared by turdferguson. Man, I think its really funny how much that shit on other beers in their beers description and then their beer sucks my cock. Nose is really acidic, smells like something rancid. There’s something akin to roast in there....Thin in the mouth, despite the use of lactose... I’m not putting more thought into descrbing this. bad.

Can. Black with a small tan head. Nose is rotten vegetables, spoiled milk, light roast, metal. Thin mouthfeel, lightly acidic, roast. Not much of a stout.

12-oz can from variety pack bought at Food Emporium. Black pour into English pint glass, small (for a stout) off-white head. Aroma and flavor are both a little milky and a little chocolatey. Light mouthfeel. Nothing really remarkable, but a simple, drinkable, decent-tasting stout. Almost like a porter.

Can at a bar. Poured into a pint glass, this beer didn’t have much of a head of typical stouts. Perhaps this beer was skunky, but overall there’s too much sour tastes for me to enjoy the chocolate and oat notes of this beer.

Good, cheap stout. Nothing special, but when the shelves are packed with everything russian, imperial, and coffee-infused this one is there to save the day. Aroma? Stouty. Pours like a stout. Taste? Stout flavored. End of story.

From the can. Pours black with a thin tan head. Roasted grain, chocolate aroma with an overriding metallic note. Smooth creamy roasted grain, chocolate with hints of coffee in the taste.

Sampled at an ESBLS tasting. From Rob. Very dark with a small tan head. A sweet roasted aroma with cream. Big hop bite to start. Citrus and bitter. Ok.
