3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz can purchased at the brewery in Garrattsville, NY. Pours to a beautiful, bright, amber color, with a tight, white head that fades, and a good carbonation. The nose on this beer is pleasing with some good zesty and herbal hop aromas. Palate is soft, with good pale and stewed malt flavors, paired with light fruity esters. This beer finishes with more good pale and stewed malt flavor up front, then ends with a gentle, mild hop bite that lingers. Enjoyable, very drinkable pale ale, with enough aroma and flavor to please the beer geek in me, but a beer that you could pound with impunity. I love a good drinking beer like this.

330ml can while in New York in September 2013. Awesome looking can and as a bonus the beer was pretty good as well.

can - also labelled as farmhouse (!). pours hazy nicely golden orange with a small off-white cap, some retention and lacing. soft and faint citrus and pine, fruity - tad awkward - slightly rotten small red and yellow fruits - cherries perhaps, sweetish toasted malts and spicy sweet graininess, caramel, brett infection, spices. moderate carboantion, light body, very lightly tart, semi-sweet and short grassy-spicy-piney-citrusy finish. calling it farmhouse to camouflage and confirm lack of control? or maybe i’m misunderstanding.. blah.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark golden thin malt bodied Pale Ale with faint aroma. English ale tendencies in this session beer. Why the beer is named ’Porkslap’ or label says ’Farmhouse Ale’ is a mystery to me.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very faint malt aroma, pours a clear amber with a finger of white head. Some roasted malt flavor, with minimal hop notes. Light bodied, with a crisp finish. It’s drinkable, and beer, but there’s not much going on here.

Can- reminds me of honey nut Cheerios and throw in some malt. Light amber in color. Overall very unique to the pale ale family.

Bought this one on name alone. From a can. Light amber in color. I think someone else said the aroma was like cherrios. I smelled that too. Somewhat bland in taste. Not a favorite.

Can. I tried this because of the can. It was a nice a little quaff. With hints of honey, butter, and roasted malt, but all the just in the faintest. I wish I could have tasted the ginger more, but I guess that might ruin the style. It went well with the big greasy burger I had, very refreshing.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
First review. Aroma is slightly floral, with bready character mixed in there. Nothing jumps out, kinda simple. Copper color. Light sweetness, light hop character. Nothing great, but it’s not terrible. It’s drinkable, but I won’t be running out and buying this one again. I had it on tap a few weeks ago, and the malt character was significantly more pronounced then.

This is my first review, so maybe I was being too critical, but I was very unimpressed at first. And I really noticed the bitter (sour?) lingering finish--almost like old Budweiser. But when I stepped back and just drank it, it wasn’t that bad. Decent mouthfeel. Kind of a fizzy, effervescent finish feel. I didn’t get any hops at all from this. It was all malty, or maybe even yeasty. I would drink it again, but I’m sure there are many, many beers of the same style that are much better at this price.
