COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our India Pale Ale packs typical IPA balls but strikes a better balance between dryness and drinkability. Itís every bit as rich but a little less bitter than other American interpretations of the breed, and hereís why. We are smarter, better looking brew masters. It also doesnít hurt that we use 2 row barley with no goofy processing. And then we employ a 2 week dry hop process before we put it in the can, with love for you, our beer loving friends. There is no fish or fish flavor in Snapperhead. We chose this cartoon figure to represent the brand in a somewhat random marketing process we call ínon-sensical ideationí.

12 oz can The IPA poured a hazy gold with a small head that dissapated to an off white collar. There was lacing down the glass. The aroma was hard to detect maybe some malt and citrus. Their brewing process somehow takes the bitterness and fun out of the IPA. If you want mild this is your IPA. The body was medium with average carbonation. The finish was uninspiring yet there was some bitterness in the upper mouth.

It's a session able ipa with moderate malt balance. Very serviceable, and the price is good. People hate, but if you're looking for a beer to drink and socialize, couldn't go wrong with it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wow. Iím really surprised at all of these negative ratings. The style says IPA, but itís a malt-base IPA. Gorgeous milk tea taste. Pours slightly cloudy dark gold with white head. Aroma- milk tea and light chocolate. Defies IPA- definite milk tea light, heavy, then light with floral and earthy hops. Finish is chocolate milk (or bubble tea) with long but subtle floral and earth. Beautiful.

Once again a Butternuts brew that I feel has been underrated for having a fair balance of flavors. Butternuts are the kings of doing nothing spectacular, but I can hardly fault them for it. They consistently brew balanced beers with tame flavors and Snapperhead is no different. An IPA with a subdued hop profile, great light malt flavor and a smooth carbonation to boot. As much as craft breweries like to take risk with bold flavors, Butternuts does the opposite and isnít afraid to make good beer with subtle flavor. Certainly enough hops and the right malt flavor to be a no doubt IPA, but definitely a light, refreshing, session-able take on the style.

Can - pours cloudy orange with a white head. Aroma is a little skunky malty. Taste leans bitter. Itís just so boring.... I canít be bothered to write more.

Can 12fl.oz. @ ChrisO Snow Tasting.

Unclear matt medium amber orange colour with a large to huge, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sour fruit, caramel, orange. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130120]

toffee colored. big fluffy head. barnyard aroma, not much hops for an IPA. fairly thin. kinda like a weak amber ale. in fact, probably more malt than hops. still seems fairly light/sessionable. completely unoffensive.

355 mL can. Bought for .99Ę at Top Shelp Brews. Couldnít pass up. Pours a darkish orange, thin trim off-white head. Smells and tastes of onions, malt, sour cream, and sweat. This is fairly gross for an IPA.

Can, at home. The aroma is muted, light hops and crackery malt. The flavor is bready malts, some caramel, and a pithy bitterness. The middle is a bit creamy. Has a kind of butterscotchy, medicinal finish. Certainly not enough hop character to be classified as an IPA. Feels more like an East Coast Pale Ale. Nothing terribly offensive, just a poor example of the style that is claimed.

A very strong IPA with a kick, very good balance of hops and dryness that you want to find in an IPA it is also a kick ass can!
