Commercial Description:
Our India Pale Ale packs typical IPA balls but strikes a better balance between dryness and drinkability. It’s every bit as rich but a little less bitter than other American interpretations of the breed, and here’s why. We are smarter, better looking brew masters. It also doesn’t hurt that we use 2 row barley with no goofy processing. And then we employ a 2 week dry hop process before we put it in the can, with love for you, our beer loving friends. There is no fish or fish flavor in Snapperhead. We chose this cartoon figure to represent the brand in a somewhat random marketing process we call ’non-sensical ideation’.

I actually like this beer a lot. It’s not an IPA at all, but I like it. It’s a golden summer ale or something.

Hazy deep blond color; creamy head. The aroma is citrusy and resiny, creamy too. Dry mouthfeel, but quite good creamy toffee and fudge flavor; the final is even drier, with strong bitterness, bitter orange peel, and some sweet nuts. Quite good, a bit original (the creamy side) not exceptional, but it could help in a hot summer day.

The lighter golden shade than most IPA’s, and the foamy light body poured out of the can, made this beer look a bit cheap at first, but once it settled down, it looked respectable. The smell was not very hoppy at all, and was almost like candy. The taste made up for the lack of hops in the nose, as the bitterness was quite assertive there. There was a metallic quality to the finish. The body was medium thin to thin, and lacked much stickiness. The beer was refreshing, and far better than 90% of any beer coming out of a can, but as an IPA it was just a bit off.

You know, if you’re going to call your beer an IPA, you should at least make an attempt at making the hops recognizable. There’s almost no discernable hop aroma and in the flavor, there’s only a slight tingle and a little bitterness in the end that suggest this ever came into contact with hops. It’s not a bad beer, but this isn’t even an American Pale Ale, much less an IPA.

It alright for a canned beer. It’s way to pricey for what it is though. I didn’t get any of the interesting IPA characteristics. Could have been worse. The best feature is the aroma which reminded me of honey.

Not bad, but didn’t really distinguish itself from the pack of IPAs that I’ve had. Had some on tap at Rattle n Hum. Decent hop character. Clean finish and nice mouthfeel. Aesthetically average. Yeah, I would drink it again but not if I had other options.

~ Purchased a 6-pack from Big Z Beverage in Huntington, NY. I was running late for a poker game and I needed something quick, cold, and fast. The bright yellow cans immediately caught my attention. Golden in color, this IPA has good carbonation and a big frothy white head. Citrus and floral hops complete the aroma. Taste is sweet and slightly bitter. Snapperhead was very easy to drink considering it’s rated at almost 7% ABV. Conclusion: Not the best IPA, but certainly not the worst. I’m surprised I enjoyed this beer as much as I did. A nice treat! ~

Love the picture on the can but what the hell is a farmhouse IPA? 12 oz can at the Midway. Pour is a dark yellow. Aroma of grapefruit hops. A light bodied and unadventurous drink that is primarily grapefruit styled hops and not a lot else.

Source:12 oz can.
Glass:Can.
Appearance:Poured a little out to get the appearance. Clear orange pour with an off white head.
Aroma:Grapefruit and caramel.
Flavor:Grapefruit and caramel, with a slight burned sugar note.
Palate:Medium body with solid carbonation.
Overall:The burned tinge aside, this was pretty good in my opinion.
