A Mes rate: Gravicask @ Reading Beer Festival. Slighty to the amber side of golden. Malt, wheat and alcoholic grapefruit in the nose. Similar flavour with a bitter hoppy finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark orange colour with a thin white head. Malty and fruity aroma, the taste is all fruit, then has a bitter dry finish.

Golden pour. Aroma of bread, hop and caramel malt. Taste was similar except some mild grass, fruit and roast. It was ok. Again it was in my neighbors cooler so I sampled.

[500ml bottle (from Millets Farm Shop, nr Abingdon) that Dad shared with me - cheers!] Light amber with a large off-white head and a slight fizz. Heavily sedimented. Lemon, malt and hay with a decent bitterness. A little creaminess in the finish. Decent enough bitter.

Pours copper with a white head. Smells earthy with some biscuity hints. Tastes of tea, some earthy hints, light spice. Bland.

Had this at the Ring O’ Bells in Hinton Blewitt. I remember this beer quite fondly as a very nice example of a lovely ESB. Of course my judgment is quite pleasantly clouded by memories of a lovely barmaid and a charming country pub. Serving: Cask

From cask at Market porter. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild citrusy and sligh peachy. Smooth fruity and crisp citrusy. Bitter and slight citrusy. Ends dry and bitter.

23rd April 2010. On tap at the Rake. Clear gold beer. No head. Low carbonation. Dry palate. Fresh fruity grapefruit and a dash of orange. Finishes dry. Standard stuff but it’s okay!

cask - Pours oglden with a small, lingering head. It’s a nicely balanced brew with mild bitterness, bready malt, and a dry finish. Tasty!

Cask handpull, The Garrick’s Head, Bath. Bronze under a white swirl. Generous hop citrus, breakfast juice and dung aroma; some choc and orange oil once we went outside. Orange and grapefruit, a little husky malt and biscuit. Thick with balance and condition. Good. (blind rate later in the evening at The Raven)...Dusty yellow with a foamy white lid. Jam and wood aroma with gooseberry; lime and dung breaking through. Brittle with nut husk bitterness, herbal citrus, maybe celery, biscuit. MOR. Octo made me drink a pint and a half of it.
