2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 maeib (6632) - Wootton, Northampton, - AUG 8, 2005
Cask conditioned - handpump - GBBF 2005. A copper coloured beer with a little hop in the aroma. The taste was dry dull and boring. Nowt more to say really.

Cask at the Hobgoblin, Reading. Bright gold in colour with a loose white head; orangey malt aroma; light fruity malt flavour; the finish is grassy and bitter to start, but then becomes dry and spicy. A very pleasant session bitter.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 9, 2005
Cask (gravity dispense), GBBF, August 2005. Amber/gold colour. Quite fruity with a hint of spicy hop. Or at least I thought it was spicy hop but now I see there are spices in it - well spotted harrisoni. Easy drinking but a bit too soft. I’m not sure what hops are in this, but Butts is a totally organic brewery and I know that British organic beers have struggled to deliver sufficient hop character because there aren’t (or weren’t) any grown organically in the UK.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] A hazy amber beer with a thin off-white head. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, while the flavor is very fruity combined with some estery notes and citrus, leading to a bitter end.

Floral, lavender, earthy, perfumey hops with some caramel malts in the nose. Burnished copper coloured body with low white head that is mostly diminishing. Caramel malts in the doughy flavour with some floral and citrus tones and fair finishing bitterness. Medium body with low carbonation and creamy texture. Very drinkable. Cask at GBBF.

Cask (GBBF): Gold with a white head. Fruity nose. Spicy fruity flavour. Medium bodied. Interesting for a bitter.

On tap at GBBF 05. Amber, with a strong, cologne tinged aroma. Smooth, but undramatic. Some balanced sweet malt and tiny bitterness. In this case it slips down too easily.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 harrisoni (10070) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 8, 2005
Cask at GBBF 2005. Copper colour. Do I detect a hint of ginger in this? Not sure what else it tastes of, some caramel, not unpleasant with a slightly spicey finish.
