Fin (2357), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Aug 17, 2006 Bottle picked up at The Grog Shop, Oxford, 17-08-06. Poured a dark brown colour, very little head. Whilst this is a brewery that I hold in high regard, I was still mightily impressed with this bottled version. Aroma is fruity and taste is full flavoursome great balance of maltiness, bitterness, some fruitiness as well, it just tasted right. Really good beer from a really good brewery. Bov (4659), Bienne, Switzerland Oct 1, 2007 courtesy of Laurent Mousson - clear and dark reddish-amber colour with a persistent beige head; slightly earthy with notes of herbs, blood oranges and caramel; low carbonation; initial sweetness followed by a fair bitterness; quite dry malty and hoppy finish with notes of fruit marmelade - deeply balanced Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 9, 2005 [Cask at GBBF 2005] A hazy brown beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of prunes and over ripe fruit. The flavor is sweet again with prunes, but here combined with notes of nuts, as well as hints of alcohol, leading to a dry end. Pub (4124), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England May 11, 2008 Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’08. Red Amber with white head. Good old Butts Brewery, still going strong and doing things properly, this is a sweetish ale type beer with warming alcohol notes, made me really sleepy in the May sunshine. Good hoppy finish, good beer. DJMonarch (4091), Northwich, Cheshire, England Jan 20, 2006 Cask Stillage at the GBBF, Kensington Olympia 05/08/2005
