BCA (from Bitter Virtue, BB Apr 07). Fruity nose with nutty malts. Oaky bitterness builds in the finish. Suprisingly drinkable and balanced for the strength. My only complaint was the slightly toasty? yeast flavours in the finish.

Bottle 500ml.@ ChrisOs.

Clear medium amber colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, light to moderate hoppy, licorice notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, licorice, malt, nutty, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110801]

Bottled. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, earth and some mild nutty and honeyish notes. Also a mild alcoholic sweet sting. Flavour is quite similar in a nice balance. Pleasantly balanced and nice.

50cl bottle from Bellinger’s, Grove, Oxon. SLightly hazy copper with a scummy looking off-white head; pleasantly orangely malt aroma; rich caramel malt flavour with a thick butterscotch texture; crisp, lightly bitter finish. A good, no-nonsense, strong ale.

This bottled brew from JSquire at a rating party poured a large sized head of foamy off-white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a very softly carbonated dark orange brown colored body and a good lacing. The weak aroma was of leathery malts. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish hoppy aftertaste. The mild flavor contained notes of malt hops and mildly metallic. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again. One of the better organics out there.

Alphadelic (1470) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 26, 2009
Dark red and hazy with a thick head of off white foam. Cinnamon, cloves and a brandy like warmth lend this a Christmas edge that I find typical in many stronger English beers. Smooth and biscuity in the mouth, very oily and rich again, but without being overbearing. The finish is lengthy and full of toffee and cream crackers. I think this is a rather fantastic little beer.

Amber color with a thick, foamy off white head. Big sweet nosewith some juicey fruits and herbal hops. Some caramel sweetness with an apple, pear fruitiness. Bready malts that balance out the hops as the orange bitterness takes over in the finish.

Freshy, grassy, gently grapefruity nose. Pours a little muddy (my fault), with a good tan head. Flavour is full of depth and character - some nice bitterness, a hint of spice, some ameliorating malty sweetness, and a long, bitter, hop finish that develops well. All told a nice drop.
