jbrus (4056), Delft, Netherlands Oct 1, 2006 On tap at the brewpub. Sweet citrus aroma of hints of banana. Cloudy, dark yellow color, white head, good lace. Sweet, banana, light bitter, touch of sourness, in the finish stronger banana flavor. Soft mouthfeel, little sticky. bogdi1 (32), Helsinki, Finland May 4, 2006 (Hand-bottled by Yogi_Beera – thanks Nat!) Cloudy, pale yellow with no head. A hefeweizen with no head, hmm... Yeasty, quite sour and atypical aroma for hefeweizen. Sour, fruity, taste with a peppery and dry finish. Extremely refreshing, solid summerbrew with that farmhouse feeling I liked in their "Helles". A link between hefeweizen and gueuze (!) and really not your typical hefeweizen. My only problem is that I don’t know how this really is, fresh at the brewhouse. But after all, do you have to have a name or label for a beer to enjoy it? I don’t think so. Yogi_Beera (2400), Hamburg, Germany May 1, 2006 On tap at the brewpub: Hazy yellow color, medium fluffy head. Banana, vanilla nose which is very intense and delightful. Citrusy with a nice light peppery finish. Great one! pivo (2481), Germany Apr 30, 2006 Big wheat nose with banana, cloudy pale orange, foamy spongy head. Citrus malt with a clear wheat component. Spicy end. Chewy body. Excellent balance. Gotta get this from the brewery if you can. An excellent German hefeweizen brewed in North Germany! MoritzF (3648), Ruhrpott, Germany Apr 25, 2006 (bottle, refilled from a growler by Yogi_Beera and pivo – many thanks!) Cloudy and hazy yellow coloured hue with a short foamy white layer. Very yeasty and fruity (citrus, banana) aroma, slightly sweet wheat-malty and shy notes of spices in the background. Sour and slightly sweet flavour, light bodied, medium carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Very fruit-accented yeasty taste with citrus, green apples and only dense notes of banana, slightly lactic and tart finish. Very refreshing example of a Hefeweizen, that reminds me a bit of a Berliner Weisse.
