MiP (4486), Flensburg, Germany Mar 3, 2007 Draught at the brewpub. Fruity aroma with sweet aroma hops. Cloudy orange colour. Creamy, stable white head. The flavour is quite fruity with some yeast. Rather sweet also. Has nice and fruity aroma hops and good bitterness. Not a pils IMO, but a nice Helles. bogdi1 (32), Helsinki, Finland May 4, 2006 (Hand bottled at the brewhouse by the great Yogi_Beera – thanks Nat!) Hazy, beautiful yellow pour with no head whatsoever. Down to earth, raw citrusy & sour aroma with maybe some flowery hops in it - but just maybe. Flavor is fruity/citric and above all - sour. Finish is dry & bitter. This has obviously degraded during the trip to Finland and I think it’s not what it should be. Nevertheless there’s a certain wonderful Farmhouse-feeling in this beer I like. Refreshing and very drinkable. Yogi_Beera (2400), Hamburg, Germany May 1, 2006 On tap at the brewpub and ..with Sauerfleisch which I can really recommend! Golden color - a bit hazy with a small head on top. Light but long lasting hops, citrus nose and taste. Some malty intervalls. A bit edgy but very good. pivo (2481), Germany Apr 30, 2006 Fresh grassy, lager nose - rough and raw already. Hazy gold color, foamy head. Creamy malt, a hint of berry fruits even. Broad dull bitter across the mouth. Gritty feel. Like a Kellerbier really. Like the freshness of this right from tap at the brewery. MoritzF (3439), Ruhrgebiet, Germany Apr 25, 2006 (refilled bottle) Hazy pale golden colour with a small white foam. Moderately sweet malty nose with a fruity (honey) note and aromatic hops in the background. Bitter and slightly sour-fruity flavour, light body, medium carbonation, soft mouthfeel. Slightly sweet malty taste with hops and a distinctive yeasty citric fruitiness; medium dry, slightly bitter and fruity finish with a floral hoppy note. Quite tasty and refreshing fruity Zwickel-Pils. Thanks a lot to Yogi_Beera and pivo for this hard to get gem !
