330ml bottle chilled. Really surprised at how bad this looks, like puddle water, no head at all. Almost zero carbonation which I don’t think suits the style at all. The result is a sickliness to what could be a really decent beer.

Bottle at home. Sweet sticky toffee malt, light pine fruit, should have had fresher though.

A rich, malty IPA without the injection of complementary hops it requires. It is cloudy for some reason (not good). This tastes like it should be a stronger, aged beer. Not the punchy IPA I was expecting. Rated by BrewTom

A hazy amber beer with a sweet, malty aroma. Along with the hops there’s a strong grapefruit hit but a surprisingly sweet one. The hops are balanced well so it’s not sour and it’s altogether too drinkable for a 7.4!

Bottle, bottled in August 2013. Unclear dark orange with a minimal head that doesn’t live up if you swirl the glass. Pine, citrus, light caramel, white bread. Medium body, oily texture, flat carbonation. Medium sweet and bitter. Good IPA, but a shame that it’s so flat and unclear. With a little carbonation this could be pretty good. Still quite pleasant.

Smell of hops, grass, pepper. Cloudy amber colour, minimal white head. Aroma of hops, pepper, mead, yeast. A faint of licorice. Very sweet. Very little carbon. Oily and full-bodied.

Bottle on the 2nd Friday night is Bottled Beer Night 2014. From The Bottle Shop Canterbury. Cloudy hazy dirty golden brown with a lasting bubbly white head. Aroma of grapefruit but sharp gooseberry as well. And some sweet toffee. I’m guessing from the aroma I’m looking at a big IPA or DIPA. Very piney on the aroma. It’s sweet. For someone who likes a fully attenuated beer this has way too much residual sugar left in the beer. Too sweet. It unbalances the hops. I feel bad but this may even have to be a low rating. I love these 2 breweries and yes there is some nice hop going on and a lovely grapefruit sting on the finish, but it’s too sweet for me. Ken, where are you??? I need you.

Bottle, Beer Moth, Manchester. Poured a vivid gold with a compact off-white crown. Aroma had notes of citrus and piney hop. Flava unfolded with similar traits alongside some tasty fruits and robust bitterness. Tidy beer. You can’t beat a bit of good old fashioned carnage.

Pours murky amber with a pretty much non-existent head. Nose shows wild honey, spicy hops, soft booze and piny notes. Lots of honey. Similar flavours, bit sweet honey notes along with spicy and piny hops leading to an abrasive bitter finish. Could use more carbonation.

Bottle - opaque, murky orange with a slim off-white head. Fruity, acidic, malty, caramel aroma. Flavours are malt, caramel, marmalade, herbs, with a dry spicey bitter finish. Medium bodied, oiley mouthfeel, near flat. Not a favourite.

Bottle from BD sheps bush. Pours dirty amber with a beige rim. Nose is loaded with dried and marmaladey/sticky fruits. Taste is dried apricot, sticky caramel, quite resinous and jammy. Solid beer but probably a little bit past it
