Cask conditioned handpump North Bar Leeds 21/03/13. An oranegy gold coloured beer with a tight white head. Nice citrussy hopping against a sweet yet dry rye note. Well balanced and tasty. Rye isn’t an ingredient I seek out but this was good.

Bottle, bought @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours hazy orange with a medium, staying, creamy white head. Aroma has sweet malts, citrus, green apple, rye bread. Medium carbonation, lovely dry and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is elegant, super crisp, citrus, pine, grass, light spicy rye that fits in perfectly. Long, lingering dry and bitter finish. Really nice.

Slightly missing. Think it’s the lower abv that hasn’t quite worked. Needs more umph. Or is that oomph?

50cl bottle. Pale amber colour with a nice white frothy head. Soft aroma: yeast, grain, and some hops on the nose. Taste is citrusy and spicy, ending with a lingering soft bitterness. Well balanced with the malts. Medium body, perfect carbonation. Very easy to drink and refreshing.

[ASPETTO]
oro chiaro, aranciato , velata; bianca, media presenza, abbastanza fine e media persistenza
[OLFATTO]
cereali, pane, note fruttali tendenti all’agrumato e frutta acerba
[GUSTO]

Bottle. Golden, cloudy, small to average and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, light caramel some tropical fruitiness, light bread (rye?), some citrus - herbal hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, light caramel some tropical fruitiness, some herbal hoppyness. Finish is average to long, malty and dryish, light caramel and light fruitiness, sharp herbal hoppyness. OK well hopped dryish amber ale - in the finish bitterness gets bit sharp and soapy.

500ml bottle (shared by FatPhil, thanks). Bit hazy amber color. Small off-white head. Hops, slightly piney, grainy aroma. Massive pine, tar, metallic flavor. Omg this is bitter. Yeast makes it bit better. I need some sort of pale lager to drink after every sip, that’s how dry bitter it is.

500ml bottle (K Kamppi, Helsinki)
RIch spicy rye and barley aroma. Very dry pine tar resiny taste. A bit watery at first, but only as you might expect from a 4.3% English beer. Adding some of the yeast massively fills out the palate, gives it a ton more pine resin and grainy bitterness. Finish has a really acidic hop bite. Leaves me a bit unsatisfied. I can’t put mu finger on what’s wrong, maybe it’s a bit dead, even though it’s BC. I prefer these guy’s stouts...
