A hoppy amber ale, brewed with a complex mash of Marris Otter pale malt, Rye, Caramalt and Wheat.
A shed-load of American hops provide a delightful marmalade / citrus bitterness, well balanced by the sweetness of the malt, whilst delivering a charcteristic peppery Rye flavour.

Cask. Orangeish amber colour with a fluffy small off-white head. Aroma is quite rich on the fruity hops along with some mild rye bread, caramel malts as well as some earthy notes. Flavour is very sweet fruity along with mild ryebread and earth. Also some slight toffeeish notes.

Light haze on this amber beer. Good off white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry with a mild carbonated sting. Mild orangey hops, fresh but pithy. Mild rye spice. Mild minerals and marmalade bitterness. Not bad.

500ml bottle from The Bottle Shop, Canterbury. Hazy amber colour a bit dirty with a lasting off white head. Rich American hop aroma. Itís a smooth American pale ale more than an amber I would say. Yes some richness from the malt and a touch of spicyness from the rye, but more an APA. But Iíd had chorizo for dinner which affected my initial palate and in fact the more I drink it the more the spicy rye comes through. Yes some earthyness. Like a lot of Buxton beers itís something I can see me sat in a pub in Derbyshire drinking a lot of. Itís extremely likeable with no out of kilter flavours. Well balanced. Good condition. Nice earthy American style beer.

Bottle. A finger-thick white head forms over a semi-clear golden body. Lacings. The aroma is fruity, with peaches and pineapple, some malty notes in the back. Quite simple, but pleasant. Supersmooth and soft on the palate, a bit thin, with pleasant carbonation. Quite nice bitterness in the flavor, with tropical fruits and a generic fruityness. Some malty sweetness in the back A nice one, but way too soft on the palate actually. Drinks easily though. 130614
