2014-07-02. Hazy bright orange body small white head. 3+ Aroma is pleasantly hoppy, oranges, orange peel, tangerines. 7++ Flavour is pleasantly bitter throughout, lovely orange hoppy citrus. Average plus bodied palate, good carbonation. Fantastic. Likely benefited from being the hoppiest thing we have had in a while, but also good on it’s own merits! Bottle from Alesela

Aromes fruitats i resinosos, també amargs i citrics com pell de taronja. En boca trobo aspectes similars amb un final molt amarg/resinos que no em desagrada. tot el contrari!

Bottle. Pours a clear light orange body with small white head. Nose is a complex herbal mix of grass, peppery herbs, nettles, spinach, mint, hints of red berries and alcohol. Taste is red berries, mint, herbal grassy tones and hints of green pepper and hay. Medium body and carbonation. Not too impressive, but not bad either. However, it makes me wonder how come so many Brit IPAs come across as grassy-herbal instead of the regular fruity/piny IPAs in the American tradition? Like this one, for example: even though the hop bill is all New World, it still tastes pretty much as a noble-hopped version. So strange.

Keg at the hanging bat in Edinburgh. I asked for a taster to see if I wanted it, I said yes as soon as my tongue hit the beer. This thing is very balanced for a 6.8 percenter. I was expecting the usual resiny/bitter/syrupy IPA around this alcohol %. I was surprised. Medium pineapple fruity aromas give way to crisp hoppiness and bitterness that doesn’t overwhelm. Well made.

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonpolet Tromsø Langnes. Lys aprikosfarget. Uklar. Høyt luftig skum som holder seg bra. Litt lacing. God fruktaktig humlearoma. Plommer. Smaken er syrlig frukt. God men litt uvariert. Litt sedimenter igjen i flaska. Avslutter tørt.

Bottle. A clear, dark golden beer with a dense, finger-thick off-white to light beige head. The aroma of hop pellets escaped the bottle immediately after cracking the bottle, and is reinforced when poured into the glass. Lemon peel and some pine cones, quite resiny, with some flowery hints and peaches. Not much maltyness in the aroma. The flavor is more on the malty side though, but far from malt dominated. Could perhaps be a tad more bitter to deal with the malty sweetness, but it’s far from bad. Citrus peel, pine cones and resins, some grass and peaches, notes of flowery perfume too. Lasting hop dominated finish, where it dries up a bit. Pleasant carbonation level, medium to full-bodied. Sure a nice one, a beer I could drink loads of. 140713

Bottle 330ml @ yngwie
Pours clear golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, orange, pine and peach. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long citrus and orange fruity, piney and bitter finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

10.07.2014, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Small slightly bubbly shortlasting head. Aroma is fresh fruity, fresh hops, pine needles, dried fruits, moss, leafs, lawn, sap, bark, light malts. Taste is slightly dry grassy, leafs, pine needles, hops, bark, light malts, grass, citrus peel, moss, alcohol, hints of cardboard. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Nice.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Sørlandssenteret. Close to 4 months old. Amber colour. Slightly below medium amount of white, bubbly head. Citrus, grapefruit and resin nose. A bit above medium bitter. Hint of grainy mouth feel. Medium carbonation. Slighly below medium body. Some salt and seltzers. Citrus, pineapple, pine, malt, oat flavour. A good IPA, though the grainyness and hint of salty taste isn’t favourable.
