Axe Edge, our 6.8% IPA is our flagship ale, our most decorated in terms of awards won, and probably our most talked-about beer. It’s an English take on the American style of IPA - Big, bold and hoppy. The flavours are simple - it’s full of tropical fruit notes, and the aromas are fresh and vibrant. There’s a lot of malt character in there too, and its rather bitter and refereshing. We think it’s delicious, hope you do to.

(Draught at Man In the Moon, Stockholm) Pale amber colour, hazy, with frothy off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, mandarin, resin and floral hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, mandarin, apricots, a touch of honey, resin and a generous floral bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty beer with a fresh hop character. Very nice.

Bottle. Unclear brownish amber with a modest white head. Aroma of lychees, mango, gooseberry, peach, grapefruit. Creamy mouthfeel. Vibrant fruits, Ribena, a little sticky bread crust, citrus flavours build towards a bitter finish. A little heavy on the Kiwi fruit salad and blackcurrant for me, but lovely supporting malts and refined bitterness. Plenty going on. Good.

Bottle from Slowbeer. Very intense and rich. Aromas of grass, liquorice, peach, flowers, with notes of caramel. Taste is sweet and bitter, well balanced, and lengthy. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frohy head.

Pours murky brownish yellow gold with a small white head. The nose is citrus, pine, sweet bread. The taste mildly sweet and heavy bitter. The mouthfeel is surprisingly soft. With a reading sticky texture. The body is medium and finish is long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nov 2012 - bottle. British American-style IPA. Highly rated, so expectations high. Sweet cat-urine smell. Taste is grapefruit, bit of melon/pineapple sweetness, good level of bitterness. Quite floral, but this is well hidden and it took me a while to detect it despite how strong this is. This is a nice beer.

On tap at Man in the Moon in Stockholm (during the IPA festival). Fresh and fruity smell with citrus, British yeast aroma. Similar taste with a note of caramel. Very nice!

Cloudier than a winters day and a pencil thin head that disappears to leave a soapy swirl, however the aroma is great. Tropical, juicy fruits, grass and citrus fruit. The flavour is an instant hit of the same and some parma violet too. The finish is quite clean and dry and the beer has a lovely oily body. A cracking IPA.

Draught at Man in the Moon, Stockholm
Muddy orange-amber color with creamy head. Very nice aroma, hoppy, very fruity, fresh, some peach and plums. Smooth mouthfeel, very good malt flavor, with moderate sweetness, delicate fruitiness and pleasant mild manure character; quite bitter, but very well balanced, the long final too.
Much more elegant than the other Buxton tasted side to side and cleaner. Excellent.
