5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 medallaisla (91) - PUERTO RICO - AUG 8, 2012
Bottle shared with husband.
Orange color, white head. Great lacing.
Wow, huge on the tropical fruits in the aroma and taste. A definite hop bomb, but it doesn’t totally overpower the malt. I didn’t realize how much I liked super hoppy beers until I tried this beauty.

Quite the hop bomb, and quite tasty at that. What is great is that Buxton did not forget the malts--the sweet malts add a strong backbone to the undeniable tropical fruit blast.
4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 Beersiveknown (1660) - NORTHERN IRELAND - OCT 29, 2011
Agree with the description, this beer was an eye opener when I tried this earlier in the year. Fairly unassuming citrus nose on this amber beer. Gentle carbonation, high bitterness but well balanced by mango, resin and lemon and a strong malt backbone.

A great bottle conditioned IPA. Pours a great amber/red colour. A really well balanced beer, caramel, sweet malts with great bitterness on the end

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 CraftBeerNick (439) - London Town, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 4, 2012
Bottle at home, 4th February 2012. Been looking forward to this one. Intense hoppy aroma, grapefruit, pine, flavour is amazingly intense, smacks you round the face, delicious complex taste, pine, resin, bitter grapefruit pithe. Lovely, best get some more in, one thing, I would describe this as an IPA, not a double IPA, does not hold the ABV for a DIPA
4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 DruncanVeasey (6182) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUN 29, 2011
UPDATED: NOV 16, 2012 330ml bottle from The Offie, Leicester. The hop aroma on this is just stunning- the NZ stuff in particular just streams out of the glass; lychee, gooseberry, strawberry chews, melon over a faint biscuit backdrop. Some Christian Dior according to the missus. I can’t imagine a better smelling beer. Beautiful, resinous, stewed English taste with a darjeeling and dunked biscuit character more than capable of standing up to the aggressively floral, grapefruity, white grape and peach notes on show. Went beautifully with a slice of Arctic roll. Can there be any higher compliment? Condition: perfect like a freshly hand-pulled cask pint. Stupendous green burbs, botanical notes. Trust me, this one is right up there with The Kernel IPAs, or any IPAs come to think of it. Out of nowhere, a contender for Favourite Beer On Earth.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 Leighton (7183) - London, ENGLAND - JUN 17, 2011
Cask at the Euston Tap. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a soft, white head. Big cat piss on the nose with some fine grass. Light to medium sweet, fine florals, grass, heavy urine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Great bitter finish, delicate grass and pine, loads more nelson and cat pee, some mild malts to balance. Incredible. I am blown away by this.

Bottle from Slowbeer. Very intense and rich. Aromas of grass, liquorice, peach, flowers, with notes of caramel. Taste is sweet and bitter, well balanced, and lengthy. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frohy head.
