2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 jimthechap (795) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 9, 2012
Hazy mellow amber colour with a white head that sat as a film on top of the beer. It’s the oddest thing about the smell: it smells of chook shit. Oh there’s fruity hop notes and malt, but also that strange pooey smell. The flavour is of quite strong bitter hop flavour, amber malts and a good lingering bitterness. A good beer except for the smell!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Benjii (2396) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 6, 2012
Bottle from Nina’s. Pours a hazel to olive colour with a rocky beige head that settles down to a fair cap. A nice hoppy aroma of grass and pine with some black pepper and Weetabix malt. Similar fruity pine and lemon flavours upfront with fair bitterness and lingering grassy hops and Weetabix again. Moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. OK.

Bottle @ home. Aroma is fresh and fruity hops, some sweet apple, some flowers. Very nice. Flavour is quite bitter of hops, medium dry, again fruity and flowery notes.

Cask conditioned handpump Southampton Arms London. A copper coloured beer with a white head and lacing. A good grainy beer with cereal and toast notes. Bready and has an oaty feel. Really didn’t get any citrus bitterness per the comm description, but did thoroughly enjoy this. Had wheatabix flavours too.
