Pours dark brown almost black, with a thin tan head.
Strong citrus and floral notes, with a hint of toffee and roast coffee.
Drinks a little porter like with strong toffee and coffee, but has a good whack of citrus and hop resins.
The finish is fairly sweet, good roast malt bitterness and hop kick.

Tap at Euston Tap. Pours very dark brown with a small, firm beige head. Killer lacing. Nose is a little subdued but what’s there isn’t too bad. Mild roast and milk chocolate with some piney hops. Moderate roast in the taste with a touch of smokiness to it behind the grassy and earthy hops. Some liquorice in the very back. Quite dry. Moderate mouth feel with a touch of warmth. Solid

Norwich Tap House. Black with a red hue and quickly diminishing off white head. Leans more towards the IPA end of the scale, but with some notable black stuff in there on the fruity side of a porter - so winter fruits, roast malts and a strong citrus and pine bitterness from the hops. Medium body, mild carbonation.

Bottle from Cornelius. Dense black body with a thick off-white head that holds well. Excellent lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, pineapple, oranges and a hint of chocolate - such a bright, fruity aroma for a Black IPA. Delicious tropical fruit flavour with a big hoppy hit. Medium body with an oily texture. A stunning Black IPA that leans more towards an IPA than a Porter.

Draught. Low and quickly dsiappearing white head. Hazy dark brown body. Hard roasted malt aroma with coffee and a touch of blackcurrant. Flavor of roasted malt and coffee with hints of grass and grapefruit. Low carbonation. Long finish. Alcohol level seems just right.
