Pours pitch black with a foamy white head. Aroma of roasty malts, fruity hops and grainy notes. Taste is slightly roasty with some fruity hops, licorice and chocolate. Finish is hoppy and mildly roasty with some fruity notes and hints of licorice. Nice, quite tasty black IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted from the bottle, bought @Buxton brewery, on 08/11/2012.
Pours of lovely dark brown to black colour, with a small beautiful head.
Aroma is both quite refreshing and intense, loads of citrus fruits, green apples and pineapples.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and proper carbonated.
Taste is intense as well, representing a mix of lemon/grapefruit freshness and pines.
Aftertaste is very sticky and super bitter, both from hops and roasted malts.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
[500ml bottle’ Pours black, with a large, off-white head. Has been in the cupboard for several months, highly evident that the hop profile (from reading other reviews) has waned in favour of the dark, chocolatey roast flavours. Almost like a porter – toasted chocolate, some coffee and a bitter dryness on both aroma and flavour. Really lovely

[500ml bottle at the Bootlegger, High Wycombe] Black with a large beige head and a light fizz. VERY hop-led, with loads of pine and some lime. A light hint of coffee is the only hint of the malts here. Hefty bitterness. Possibly rather unbalanced if truth be told, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Bottle from Corks of Cotham, Bristol. Dark brown in colour, with a tight, off-white head and moderate carbonation. Aroma of pine, berry fruits, fruit cake and orange peel with plenty of grassy hop.
