Sampled bottle at GBF 2012. Very dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma: hoppy with grapefruit, roast and toffee. Taste: hoppy, grapefruit, chocolate, toffee, roast, medium bitter. Medium-bodied. Another nice one from Buxton.

(cask) pours a clear dark ruby colour with a frothy beige head. aroma of toasted grain and grass, quite husky, with a hint of milk chocolate. flavour is mostly the same, quite toasted and grainy, with a hint of liquorice, burnt coffee beans and a slightly tart roasted-bitter finish. light-bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. A brown-black beer that pours with a creamy white head. It has spicy red fruit, caramel, chocolate and coffee flavours, liquorice and grapefruit on the finish.

thin head that is not dense, rather big bubbles, no lacing. coffee coloured beer. smell of coffee, liquorice and bitter chocolate. bitter taste, toasted malt, coffee, liquorice and pure bitter chocolate. aftertaste is more of the same and continues quite long. thin mouthfeel and soft carbonation. bottle 50 cl @ baden baden

Bottle, bought @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours deep clear red, small, staying, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has chocolate, cocoa, light roasted, nuts. Low carbonation, light and dry mouthfeel. Flavour has firm roasted malts, chocolate, piney hops, citrus. Fine bitter finish. Good.

Bottle, Chester Beer & Wine. Nigh on black pour with a restrained tan head. Aroma was roasted malt, coffee, and hop. Flavour was along similar lines and did it well. The hop injection was most welcome and this is more quality produce from Buxton.
