3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 SaintMatty (2847) - Uppsala, - JAN 13, 2012
500ml Bottle - Dark brown with some amber tinges. Raisins, pine, grapefruit and caramel in the aroma. Nicely balanced taste with notes of hops and malt combining nicely with grapefruit, toffee, nuts, raisins and roasted malt detected.

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Almost black colour, light beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, cold coffee, some pine and grassy hops, a bit Black IPA-like, after a while more berry and toffee aromas emerge. Flavour is dry, bitter, hard roasted malts, ash, berries, a bit of liquorice, firm bitter pine, grass and roast in the finish that lingers. Light to medium bodied, suits the beer just fine, soft carbonation. Third hit in a row from Buxton for me.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 RichardW (929) - Carlisle, Cumbria, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2012
Bottle. Pours ruby red-brown with a spicy aroma. Bitter and roasty on the tongue, lovely full flavour with a great long sharp finish, however some late chocolate balances it out nicely. Another impressive brew from Buxton.

Cask conditioned handpump Craft Beer Co London. A ruby coloured beer with whitish bubbles. A really good fruity hoppy beer. Very reiminscent of a US amber with its sweet malts and high level of fruity hops. There’s a little additional roastiness as well. A good body. Really quite scrummy.

A clear dark brown colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma of malts with dark fruits. The taste of sweet fruits with a little roasted malt, there are also some coffee hints. The aftertaste is sweet with a nice bitterness.

23rd April 2012 On tap at the Craft. Clear dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Dry palate. Smooth dark malt, quite light. A little roasty coffee bitterness. Nice mild berry fruits underneath. Citric hop bitterness closes with a long bitter linger.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 erickok (1071) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - APR 27, 2012
Murky brown, light foamy beige head. Nutty, wooden, figs, metal. More watery than expected, but enough bitter based flavour. Leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. Not made for me I suppose. Drinkable bit misses character or smoothness. (Sample from 50cl bottle, thanks Menno!)
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 dynamiteninja (840) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2012
Bottle conditioned. Didn’t notice any sediment and the beer was not very lively on the pour. Thin, loose tan head. Dark chestnut body. Strong hit of grapefruit on the nose, red fruit, some spiciness, nuts. Healthy amount of bitterness to taste, with a long a satisfying dry bitter finish. Gentle to moderate carbonation. Relaxing ... soothing ... mellowing. Classic winter fare.
