Full bodied jet-black ale with a pale-tan head. Abundant fresh hop aromas suggesting zesty citrus pulp and forest fruits.

Bottle from Euston Tap. Dark brown with a huge beige head. Fresh citrus nose as well as hint of berries. just a hint of roasted malts, initial caramel sweetness giving way to fresh citrus hop bitterness. Very good.

330ml bottle in Harrild & Sons, London (£5.50):
This one was a really excellent black IPA, quite possibly one of the best that I’ve tried of the style to date (I’m not 100% sure but it is certainly up there anyway). Juicy, flavoursome & really refreshing to drink, this one was an excellent tasting beer that went down in no time at all. After finishing the majority of the bottle I realised the beer had been bottles just over one year ago but this definitely didn’t seem to have a negative impact on the taste, the beer was superb & it’s one I’ll be hoping to pick up again now.

Bottle from de Molen Beershop, bottled 19/2/15 BB 19/2/16, large sample. Dark brown color, big frothy light brown head. Big aroma of piney and citrussy hop, slight roast and hint of cookie. Medium bitterness in taste, some roast, slight cookie sweetness. Slight thin in body, but the aroma makes up for that. Good beer.

Cask in the Buxton Tap House, Buxton. Pours mahogany with a really light layer of cream froth. Mild pine hop aroma. The taste is bitter with pine initially before chocolate and liquorice. Nice balance between roasted malt and hop profiles. Really good.
