A refreshing, full flavoured, hoppy golden ale. Mellow marmalade and fruity citrus grapefruit flavours and aromas are balanced with a gentle malt background to give a very pleasing beer. Named after the waterfall high on Kinder Scout in the Derbyshire Peak District.

Cask. Very light amber/gold. Smell and taste are pure banana bread. I love it, but I wonder if this is intended or whether it was just something with this batch.

Świetne piwo. Żadko spotykane u Anglików, a mianowicie mętność piwa, oraz niewielki osad w butelce, co świadczy o braku filtracjii. Piana kożuchowa. Aromat cytrusowy, a w smaku kwaskowaty posmak cytryny i grapefruita. Wyczuwam sporo odmian chmielu. Dla mnie to piwo jest jak IPA

Cask at CBC, London. Pours clear gold with a white foam head. Has a wonderful grass and dandelion hop aroma. Medium sweet flavor with lightly toasted grains, grass, straw and citrus. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Resinous grassy bitter finish, some pale malts, light white sugar, mild doughy bread. Solid sessioner.

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Slightly hazy golden orange colour, dense white head. Aroma of bitter jelly, grapefruit, citrus, hint of sulphur, light sweet floral notes. Flavour is light sweet, light dry malty, straw, floral, grapefruit bitter and floral hoppy finish with a bit of earth/liquorice root powder. Light bodied, soft mouthfeel. Great thirstquencher, and another really good Buxton beer.

[cask at the Stockbridge Tap, Edinburgh] Pours deep orange brown. Floral aroma. First taste is melon, then it leads into bitter grassy hops, roasted chocolate and a leathery dryness. Quite tannic on the finish – more an ESB than a golden ale. Great stuff, however – love the way the flavour switches from fruit to bitter roast [06062012]

I liked this, the half I had in the showroom bar was not in the best condition but the beer didn’t suffer for it. Classic british ale in the modern tradition of being flavourful and tasty. Nice.

Sampled from bottle @ monthly De Molen tasting. Slightly unclear yellow to golden color, small to medium sized off-white head that’s diminishing fairly quickly. Smell malts, some hops, slightly sweet. Taste malts, lightly hops, decently bitter, slightly a hint of fruits. Medium carbonation, low to medium body.

Cask at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London. A golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus fruit aroma. Tastes hoppy, citrus fruit, some marmalade in there, malty, slight sweetness. This would make a great session ale. Best Buxton of the evening for me.
