Roasted flavour of caramel, hay and hops with notes of licorice and pine needles.

Gravity at Cambridge Beer Festival. Dark black with a thick head. Full roasty flavour, fruit cake, toast, raisin, hint treacle, roasty. Bitter finish. Not overpowering. Nice.

On tap at The Trappist. Pours near black with an attractive tan head and a smoky treacle aroma. There is a hearty smoked malt flavor that sticks to the palate and a dry finish. Very toasty.

Cask-conditioned at the Barley Mow, bristol 29/4/2013. Near black with a slight, off-white head. Black coffee, a touch of plain chocolate, liquorice and a dry, toasty finish. Enjoyable.
