Bottle from Berkeley Bowl - West. Pours very dark brown with no head. Aroma is treacle with coffee notes. Med body. Thins as the mild carbonation departs. Flavor is treacle, dark malt, a little coffee. There might be some smoky notes. Finishes a little earthy, and surprising dry, considering the treacle I thought I was experiencing. Has strong flavor for 4.1 ABV.

From 330 ml bottle. Pours a dense black with maybe a slight red highlight at the edge and a small tan head that dissipates almost completely. Aromas of cocoa nibs, coffee beans, burnt caramel and dark fruit (currants and raisins). Taste starts off with soft fruit like stewed plums before a firm roasted bitterness kicks in, bringing dark chocolate and black coffee notes. The bitterness slips away to a chocolatey finish. Light fruity aftertaste. Pretty darn good.
