50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Slightly hazy golden orange colour, white head. Aroma of bitter grapefruit, some NZ-hops, citrus, a little sweaty. Flavour is citrus fruits, bitter oranges, grapefruit, lemon, sweat, light fruity sweetness, hint of grain, light yeasty, light floral, firm bitter finish, dry. Light bodied, soft mouthfeel. Good stuff, again. I can see why they’ll be featured at Borefts.

Cask in Euston Tap. Touch of haze, amber no head. Nose is peach, not much else. Taste light peach, delicate flavour and some tangy hops. Bit of orange citrous on the finish. Simple but nice.

Big disappointment. Hops didn’t taste fresh and invigorating like with Moor. Bit stale. Sewagy froth appears shortly after starting to drink.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, London, 18 April 2012) Golden colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, grapefruit, grass and lots of fresh hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, lemon peel, grapefruit, grass, slightly grainy malt and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Excellent, and highly drinkable, golden ale with an impressive, fresh hop character. Refreshing and very nice.

Bottle, thanks to Matt W. Clear golden pour with a small white head. Fragrant hop and citrus notes present in the nose. Similar flavour with some balancing sweet malts. Light and easy drinking. Dry bitter finish. Plenty to like here considering the strength and the citra hop presence bumps up the score further. Not the greatest offering from the excellent Buxton, but decent all the same.
