NOTE: The recipe for this beer changed significantly in 2011.

A light, refreshing, hoppy pale ale. A showcase for the incredibly aromatic North American hop – Citra. It has a lovely citrus aroma, with juicy fruit flavours in the mouth. Medium bitterness.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico - 10/10/12. Clear pale golden with a decent frothy white head. Thin nose with pale malts, muted hops and light fruit tones apple being evident. Tastes of light hops, orchard fruit, a little caramel and hints of pine. Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a smooth finish.

4.1%ABV. Blond Ale. Tapped out at 6ºSRM. Light gold and slightly hazy. Looked inviting when it formed a lightly opaque frost on the glass. No head out of the tap with some large foamy bubbles in a thin white head. Nose was bold and abrasively full of pine, yellow grapefruit and citrus. Mouthfeel was full of aggressive carbonation layered nicely over a big-boned skeleton of good quality pale malts. Bitter hop balanced with not just any hops, but Buxton axe edge bitter hops. Nice....but not enough to make the favorites list. Good Job, Buxton!

[Draught at In de Wildeman, Amsterdam, May 16] 10th rating of my Paris/Amsterdam trip. Pours a cloudy pale gold with an average size semi-lasting frothy white head. Good amount of lacing. Aroma of citrusy, fruity hops along with bready malt, paper and light vegetal notes. Flavour is bready, hoppy and papery and is a bit harsh/astringent Average bitter finish. Average bodied. Just O.K.

Nez discret / Robe trouble mais trés claire aussi. Sympathique bière très direct et humble ... J’en veux aussi pour les festivals rock de cet été !

Bottle @Pulp Pub. Pours small creamy white head, light to medium body, good lacing, slightly cloudy particles. Light yellow-golden color. Refreshing aromas of citrus, grapefruit, lemon, flowers. Grain and straw malts, distinctive hoppiness,dry- bitter finish. Thin texture, average carbonation, slightly sweet and moderately bitter. One very fine example of Golden Ale from Buxton Brewery. I enjoyed every sip!
