3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at home, thanks James! Dark brown pour, thin off-white head. Big salty, meaty, slightly sweaty smoke and roast on the nose, just a hint of soft roast barley too. Slightly sweet mocha/cocoa front, quickly matched with intense, slightly medicinal peat flavours. Soft creamy body, lightly bittersweet finish. Really well balanced.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines: dark brown pour with a tan head, big peaty medicinal taste which come through in the taste, like drinking a laphroaig which isn’t a bad thing.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at home from drinkstore.
Intriguing aroma of roast lamb and smoked ham with slightly sweaty washed find cheese. Dark brown with ambertan head and fine carbonation, light with medium body. Plenty of bitter roast barley and some cocoa combat the gentle peaty caress and sticky sweet meaty rye. A well balanced brew that has probably mellowed with age.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tasted from the bottle, on 15/02/2013.
Pours blackish brown with a tiny creamy head, which doesn't last for too long.
Aroma is mild, smoke and wooden coal prevail, with an iodine hint in the end.
Taste is a wonderful mix of roasted malts, all that peat/smoked/ashy/iodine stuff and, surprisingly, some citrusy american hops, lovely!
Carbonation is low, body is full, alcohol is well hidden.
Aftertaste is pure ash tone.
Not a big fan of smoked beers, but that one is definitely worth to try.

Black body, light brown head. Aroma has disturbingly large amount of nail polish remover and thinner. Some smoke and roasted sugary malt too. Flavour has chocolate and some smokiness. Weird.

330ml bottle @ Gallows Bird, Espoo
Pours pitch black with a small head. Strange aroma of band-aid, horse shit, peat, farmyard and roasted malts. Taste is roasty and peaty with notes of wood, smoke and leather. Finish is smooth with some smokey notes, leather and wood. Okay, a bit unbalanced smoked and peated ale.
