330ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a small head. Aroma is a pound of smoked gammon that’s been aged in a pint of TCP. Taste isn’t as over the top, thick smoke and peat with mild plaster and TCP notes. Flat but full in the mouth.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Euston Tap. It pours opaque very dark brown with a small tan head. The nose is big on the smoke, roasted malt, some caramel, tire, burnt plastic and umami aspect. The taste is roasted malt, toast, smoke, earth, tar, cacao, charcoal, tar, meatiness and some medicinal notes, with a dry, tarry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good balance and flavour.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours an oily reddish black, with a thin mocha head. Big aroma of sweet wood smoke, charred meat and bitter coffee. Taste is much the same, although a little less prominent. Lingering finish, minimal carbonation. A little sweet for me, but a good stab at the style.
