Borefts Beer Festival IV. Day 1. Nice yeast story with this beer! Opaque black beer, tiny pale tan head. Smooth dry palate with mild carbonation. Smooth dark malt. Mild dark fruits. Smooth and somewhat sweet brett on top. Nicely joined up. Dry finish with a slightly spicy aftertaste.

Black colour, beige head. Aroma of wild yeast, roasted malts, sweet fruits, chocolate, apricot and earth notes. Light sweet flavour, little salt, light tart. Finish chocolate, light fruit and coffee.
Interesting, and adding the 1978 yeast was a cool idea in the first place.

Tasted at 4th BBF @ De Molen. Black pour. Aroma of roasty malts, brett, fruity, chocolate, caramel and earth. Flavor is slightly sweet, slightly spicy, slightly sour, slightly bitter. Quite complex. Great balance.

Draught @ Borefts 12. Opaque, almost pitch black color, small brown head. Smell malts, smoke, roasted malts, some fruits, yeast and slightly sourish. Taste malts, lighty roasted malts, some bitterness from the hops and sourness from the brett. Weird combination, but well done. Very balanced. Low to medium body and carbonation.

Small bubbly brown lacing on top of a black colored beer.
Aroma’s of sweet fruit, pine apple, apricot, yeast, some roasted malts, wood and light smokey.
Taste is fruity with roasted malts, good bitter, some roast, lot of fruit, like a good bitter fruity (hint of wood) black ipa. This is different than any BA Imperial Stout I have ever had. But it’s nice.
Aftertaste is wood, bitter and some fruity tones.
Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium to full body and a creamy texture.
A complete different approach of this style.

On tap at Borefts 2012. pours black with a big tanned head. Aroma is liquourice and brett, unusual combo. Taste is dark light roasted malty, light funk. Dry bitter end.

On tap at Borefts 2012. Black with a large solid chocolate head that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma is funk, grape, chocolate, fresh hops. Slightly confusing on the palate with hoppy bitterness and some brett sourness. Taste is celery, floral hops, chocolate.

Cask @ Borefts 2012. Black and opague. Roast, apple and brett in the aroma. Roasty flavor, coffee and hidden bretty notes. A considerable dry out effect in the aftertaste. Very interesting beer, but I prefer the regular version.

On tap at Borefts beer festival 2012. ABV is stated to be 9,5%. Black body with a foamy fingerthick brown head. Sweet liquorice and a hint of berries on the nose. Full bodied with sweet flavors and a noticable presence of coffee and liquorice and a hint of ash and Brettannomyces. Oily bitter and a dry tongue.

Drauft @ 4th Boreft 2012. A black colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma of dark fruits, with caramel and whisky notes. The taste of dark fruits, dark malt, wood and whisky notes. The aftertaste of sweet fruits, bitter and roasted malt.
