Bottle and keg, special
After a long wait, our Special Reserve No.5 is pretty much ready. it’s an 8.4% big, bold, double IPA. It’s fresh, piney, big-bodied and with a bitterness that’ll slap you in the chops.

33 cl bottle. Bottled on 02.04.2014. BBE 02.01.2015.
Pours hazy orange color with a medium sized lacy head. Lots of sweet fruits and floral hops on the nose, caramel, some pale malts and mild wooden notes also. Bitter fruity palate, tropical fruits like mango mostly on the flavor, caramel malts add to the sweetness, resinous hops a bit too. Still it feels more refreshing than too sweet as DIPAs usually do, I really like this. A solid brew from a very good brewery in my books.

Ragnampiza (332) - Rome / Lecce, ITALY - JUN 2, 2014
330 ml bottle from Les Vignerons, served in a nonic half pint glass. Bottled on 02-04-2014 (Cheers Buxton for the date!). Sunrise orange, pretty hazy, with a tiny head which dissipated quickly leaving a thin ring of foam. Fresh, intense and fruity aroma, but not citrusy or tropical, but more spicy in a different way, with notes of mint and rosemary. Different and interesting. On top of that, definitely piney and resinous smell. Some light toffee and soap as well. Solid level of bitterness, chunky but not cloying or hard to drink, typical sticky caramel sweetness. Slightly warming, but relatively well hidden alchool. Fruity and spicy aftertaste. Soft to average carbonation, medium body, slightly oily texture. Pretty nice.

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy amber, white craggy head. Sweet resin nose. Weird middle palate which is a bit sickly and overpowers the rest of the taste. Good bitter finish. Not sure about this one.
