Bottle shared with esp0r, edvard and Simonsen at The "Esp0r #2000 Weekend in The Woods" 2014. Black body with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruits, brett, mild funk. Taste of dark chocolate, roast, subtle brettiness with berries and earth, quite nice, pleasant bitter roast aftertaste. Enjoyable!

On bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika, october special release. Black color, good brownish foam. Mild roasted aromas, also of berries, tannins, oak, light vanilla and some licorice- great yeast influence. Full body & high complexity. Sweetness followed by goodbitterness and sourness- balances very well. Very enjoyable

Bottle at home via the Brewery. It pours opaque black with thick dark tan head. The nose rich, roasty, earthy brett, dark fruit, jammy berry, black forest gateaux, wood, light vanilla, spice and burnt toffee. The taste is rich, earth, dark roast, brett, decent bitterness, plum skin, prune, dark chocolate, musty, damp wood, tobacco, old leather armchair, warming alcohol, light citrus and a touch of coffee with lingering rich roasty finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and slick mouth-feel. Rich, great depth and balanced. Very impressive indeed. Delicious!

330mL bottle at Euston Tap, pours jet black with a very large tan / light brown head. Aroma brings out oak barrels, a little brett, fish tank (!) and a little cocoa. Flavour brings out loads of toasted oak, just enough brett that surprisingly incorporates itself well into this stout, along with a little cocoa and coffee. Rich and complex, with an oaky finish. Wonderful stuff.

Bottled. Pours deep brown, nearly black with a medium sized, lacing tan head. Aroma og roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, notes of brett, wood and licorice notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry, with alcohol notes and slightly bitter. Full bodied, oily text. and soft carb. An excellent impy.

8 cl sample from 33 cl bottle @ Pub Kultainen Apina.
Pours dark red color with a small head. Aroma of sour darks fruits, some yeast and berries. Flavor dry dark fruits, some yeast, dark berries and sour federal berries. Very complex but still very refined. Tasty.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - bottled Aug 2013, at Kitty’s, 20140104) The beer poured black and oily. Its head was small and white. Aroma had burnt malts, sourness, liquorice and midly ash. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were sourness, burnt malts, liquorice, ash and bitterness. Afteraste was ashy, sourness and bitter. A nice heavy imperial stout

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2014 Dense black, not viscous but thick with a sandy head. Driven rich salt and malt head is the only way to out it, dewy and licking your palm tang - perky enough but a weird gassy vibrance. There’s little angles to this beer sadly, wee bit slippery mouthfeel and crunchy salty malt middle. I really thought this would be a lot more complex than it was but it’s down the middle before a rocket of a finish. Bump of malt richness dissolves in, light oaky and dry and a couped up bitterness. Would like to see more info on how or what this is aged in as the finish could boost things from the start, especially if they risk sticking in a Bourboun softening barrell or similar.
