COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottle conditioned; Regular.

Tsar is rich and powerful, a full bodied Imperial Stout. Malty chocolate, mocha and dark berry fruit-notes preside over a subtle hop profile, whilst a smooth velvety texture in the mouth gives way to a lingering bitter, dark chocolate finish

Bottle from Kris Wines, London. Pitch black beer with a beautiful lasting beige/brownish head. Roasted coffee and chocolate aroma, prunes, licorice, vanilla notes, earthy notes, caramel, salmiak, citrus notes, espresso, cocoa powder. Cocoa flavor, roasted, mint pastilles, creamy, salmiak, citrus, chocolate, licorice, some vanilla. Fullbodied and with a quite mild chocolate finish, bringing prunes, vanilla and cocoa powder.

Pour is a black with a huge tan head. After the head goes down some chocolate roasted malts come out along with some dark fruit. Flavor is full of char malt with a nice roasted malt left on the tongue as this goes down. Some dark fruit is there as well. Pretty good with a bit of almost burnt malt but could have used a bit more hops. This is probably what a Russian Impy stout tasted like back in the day rather than the Americanized versions of today.

Bottle. Teku. Pitch black with medium, light brown, densed, head. Medicore head retention and lacing. Nice, rich aroma of roasted malts - mainly dark chocolate and coffee accompanied with nice red/dark fruits aroma. Taste is quite bitter, with noticable dark chocolate flavours alnog with some coffee acidity. Also you can experience some loght smoked and charcoal character. Full body, oily texcture, soft carbonation, finish is bitter, coffee and fruity. Definetely worth trying RIS.

Pours dark brown, just a bit of foam. Aroma is hoppy, kind of like BIPA. Taste is also nicely hoppy, nice roasty liquorice chocolate body is quite well covered and does not feel to have too high abv. I like this one quite a lot.

Beautiful. Thick & black with a dark brown head. Quite hoppy aroma, with roasted malts. Big roasted malt flavours, along with the usual coffee & dark chocolate. Quite heavily hopped & carbonated for an impy stout, but I think it works really well... although it does start to push it towards black IIPA territory I feel. Nice bitter finish too. Good stuff.

pitch black color. Dark brown head. Huge roasted malt character with tobacco leaves with ctirus notes. Def a imperial black IPA nose. The mouth is smooth, lots of hops and roastiness, but the mouth is a bit thin. Very nice but much like imperial black IPA

Pours black with tall tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasty notes. Taste is initial boozy sweet with muscovado and dried fruit followed by a long coffee finish. Body is medium to rich, oily, with soft carbonation.
