Garrold (1710) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2014
Bottle. (No.99). Buxton Tap House. Hazy gold. Messy, thin, lasting, white head. Juicy, lemon and orange hop. Some vanilla sweetness. Bready. Yeasty. Light funkiness. Fruity, toffee malts on the end. Taste is very zesty bitter. Yeasty dry. Hint of sweet. Big, chewy, ever so slightly boozy palate. Finishes long bitter, with a dry close. The brewer suggests drinking this fresh, but this isn’t particularly fresh, and looking at some of the earlier ratings, I’ve done well to hang on to this one, because this is beautifully rounded, a bit rich, and very tasty. Very, very nice.

ClubGonzo (4230) - Bergen, NORWAY - DEC 6, 2014
Bottle. Pours a hazy light orange body with a medium creamy white head with a short lifespan. Aroma is muscat grapes, wood, pears, straw, wheat and hints of bubble gum, dried rhubarb and faint paint thinner. Taste is honey melon, white sugar, herbs, straw, wood, muscat grapes and hints of apple vinegar and white currants. Medium body and carbonation. A bit sharp around the edges sometimes, but definitely tasty stuff all in all from Buxton.

TET (1751) - FINLAND - DEC 6, 2014
A cloudy, dark yellow beer with a medium and blond head. The nose is fruitful and sweet, also some overriped fruits, white wine and some sourness. Taste has fruits, white wine, sourness, grapes and some lether, dryer than aroma. Medium bodied, fresh, balanced carbonation. Not a typical saison. Fruits and sourness.

Pours copper/orange hazy, thin white creamy head that leaves very nices laces. Smell of fruity white wine and grapes, spices, hints of funk, light malts and some fruity yeast esters. Light to moderate sweet, quite spicy, fruity white wine tendensies, fruity malt flavors, a touch of wine acids, quite complex flavor profile all in all. Ends with a moderate bitter tail. Very nice combo of saison and white wine barrel aging. Complex, still quite well balanced off. The saison yeast spicyness and the wine acids matches with this very fruity beer

33cl bottle from the Bottle Shop, London. It pours a bright orange color with a large off-white head. Aroma is woody and tart, with notes of grapes skin, light vinegar, green apples, vine leaves, violets and citrus. Taste is gently sour, earthy, spicey, with notes of citrus, dried leaves, hay and grapefruit. Light to medium bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, very good.

Taste is slightly sour, grapefruit and orange, spicy yeast. wood, clean dry refreshing zesty finish. A refreshing saison, quite good stuff from Buxton yet again.

Golden yellow beer with small head on top. Aroma is quite sour, with green apples and citrus. I can smell the white wine somehow in here. Taste is a little sour, and definitely one can taste the white wine in here. Some apples and a weird taste at first but thankfully it is gone very quickly. Medium body with medium carbonation. A great idea but the execution could’ve been better.

Cloudy body, medium off white head. Rich aroma, very original. Brett, barrel aging aromas, farmy, horse blanket, white grapes. Very tasty, lots of aging aromas that go well with the Base beer. Do much better than bourbon aging would be, a different class! The yeasts are iconic now and accentuated. Must try! (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

Bottle shared @ home from Saveur-biere.com - Color: pale blond beer with small carbonation and small white foam. Smell: fruity and grassy domination with sour notes and fruity notes as gueuze. Taste: sour taste, with fruity notes. Really tasteful. Extreme nice beer. Aftertaste: sour not with astringent sensation.

Bottle at home split with Sarah. Picked up at BEER:shop st Albans. Golden straw coloured pour with a lasting thin white head. Aroma is big brett funk, sharp / sour apricot and some sharp acid. Some funky horse and dung on the nose as well. Flavour is less sour, but the malts are a bit loose and flabby. Flavour also has some grape, straw funk and a hairspray solvent note that is a bit unpleasant. Lingering grape and apricot fruits. Palate is sour and semi dry in the finish, moderate carbonation leaves i a bit lack lustre on the tongue. Dry wood tanin in the finish. More akin to a sour wild ale than a saison.
