COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Our Lager (Dortmund-style) is brewed with pale, Munich and Vienna malts and is moderately hopped with Hallertauer hops. The Dortmund style evolved in the steel-making town that bares the name and is a hearty lager with great heft in the mid-palate. The hops balance the malt but not overtly so. UPDATED: AUG 4, 2004 Light soft sweet and uninspiring. Not an export, more like a very plain continental style lager. Too sweet.

Draft at VT Brewers Fest - Golden yellow in color with a slight whitish head. Aroma is a malty/yeasty mixed in with some hops. Flavor is of small hops and biscuit malt. This is clearly a plain lager and not what they advertise it as and a slightly above average one at that.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2005 2004 bottle. Dark yellowish-orange, but very clear with a small off-white head and bubbly. Aroma of dry biscuits as it says, lots of yeast and a very earthy, almost herbal hops appeal. Flavor is meaty, earthy, soily, dry and yeasty. Very strange, not terribly complex at all. It tastes like a spoiled sweetness is present. Not a tremendous rendition of the style, I would class this one as a regular lager if I hadnt known. Lightly fizzy mouthfeel, medium body. eh. . .

Sparkling clear, light golden lager with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention with sparse lacing. The aroma and flavor are both malty with notes of butterscotch, butter and light herbs. Decently balanced by the diverse hops. Medium-bodied with a syrupy/sticky mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, bitter-sweet, creamy finish. Good stuff... for a helles.

Pours a medium-dark transparent golden color with a small white head that disappears. Aroma is quite sweet with perhaps a floral note, but it’s a little unusual. A bit malty up front but more dominated by the hops which are actually pretty bitter. Feels very thin. Overall, for a beer named "Lager," this was surprisingly flavorful, but it’s still not great.

This beer is watered down, just like every other Buzzards Bay beer I've had. Simple taste with little to no head. It's not really worth a try unless you like Buzzards or something.

clear, golden color, light, fresh hoppy aroma, piney; slightly bitter, hoppy taste, somewhat watery, a refreshing beer, not overly tasty nor aromatic

Pour is a transparent straw with a small quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is faint with traces of spicy yeast. Start is very perfumey, like my great aunt's. Middle is very carbonated with a hoppy bitter finish. I like the finish, but the start is sort of funky.
