2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: AUG 31, 2006 An interesting take on the style with yogurt, citrus and pepper dominating the nose and caramel dominating the tongue. A bit watery and bland, but very drinkable.

Yellow straw pour with nice white head. Hops and malt. Better than mass produced pale ales, but average micro. I tend not to like this style very much. Rated 3/19/03

Bottle: Orangish, slight haze, small to moderate off-white head, settles quickly, spotty lacing, very lively carbonation. † Non-descript nose, very slight wet malt or spent grain nose. † Not really any hop presense. † Dirty ashtray flavor up front. † Not sure why the description lists the beer as an ESB and a Pale Ale. † Certainly seems more like an ESB, but one that I would likely not drink again. † Moderate body and mouthfeel. † Extremely light hop flavor near the exit, light sweetness, picking up a bit more maltiness. † Otherwise, a very uninteresting and somewhat rough beer at the start. † Thanks for the freebie John!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This comes across more like an EPA than an APA. The color is a reddish copper, the head light tan and two fingers in height. The aroma is a fruity, caramel malt with some earthy, herbal hop scents. Medium-bodied, it has a bready, caramel malt flavor with a touch of green apples and a nice, earthy bitter finish. Good material for a session ale.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This beer pours a deep orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is bready malts and fruity. A medium bodied pale ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are mild and slightly citrusy. Kind of reminiscent of the standard slightly hoppy brew pub Pale ale. OK, but not exceptional. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Orange gold color. Aroma is malty with an unidentified somewhat funky smell. Light to medium bodied Pale Ale. Malts are nutty and sweet. Hops are bitter and a little harsh. Itís a touch vegetative and metallic, and then itís a touch sour and harsh. Not a good combination. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fresh on Tap. Pours a slightly hazy orangey amber with a fluffy lasting white head. Aroma is earthy, floral and almost tea-like- good EKG character- with a slight toasty malt backbone. More sweetness in the flavor upfront, but still has a fresh EKG hop character especially the nice drying tacky rough bittering form the hops in the end which was nice. pretty solid Engish pale ale.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hard to believe itís been 5 years since Iíve had something from this brewery. Bottle ala jjpm74. Bright orange amber color with a moderate ecru head. Simple, yet effective toasted malt aromas. Hints of mild spice in the background. Light caramel malt and hint of raisin in the flavors. Quite dry. A cross between an amber and a pale. Seems to get dryer and slightly acidic and biting leaving the malt behind in the end.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Medium copper pour, off-white head, good lace. Somewhat of a neutral aroma, bit of fresh lake water if nothing else. Some earthiness in the flavor, a bit of toffee, some muted citrus bitterness. Tangy mouthfeel. Thanks to Aurelius for this one.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle. Darkish amber, very clear, smallish head. Sweet caramel, piney hops, and some indefinable ague in the aroma. Not bad, but...weird. Sweetish, buttery flavor, solid if low hoppiness throughout, decent English maltiness, good body. Pleasantly surprised by this, I'd started to expect this brewery to be worthless. Not great, but certainly drinkable.

Poured a clear copper color with a small off-white head. The aroma had a light hoppiness to it. Fruity with malty caramel. More caramel in the flavor. Mild to moderate bitterness. Acidic hop flavor. Decent body.
